Strange things when it is cold outside
I have a few odd problems when it is cold outside. The tach just does not want to work. After it warms up durring the day (I live in Texas. . . ) it works just fine. Is there anyway to change out the grease that is there so that it moves smoother when it is cold?
Second, it seems that the car is running really rough at idle when it is cold out. I can feal the roughness and if I just let it idle like that, it will die. It almost sounds like a bridgeport at times. It takes a good bit to start it up as well, but she will kick over. I just hold the choke out a little bit to keep the rpms up while I break so it won't die at the 3 stops on the way to work. Later in the day though, it is fine. No issues at all.
I have the rats nest gone, and everything else is stock. Airpump is still attatched, but not hooked up to anything atm. Idle is around 1500 because of some strange vac leak that I cna't seem to find.
Any ideas?

Vacuum leak could be the capped port under the back of the carb, engine side, hidden from veiw by the shutter valve. I have no clue why that port was made, as they came factory capped.
As for it trying to die at a stop, left foot braking, in nuetral works wonders for me........ But, my choke linkage seems to be messed up, and will not raise the RPM as it should.
I have no clue about the tach issue, I just live with it.......
