On my stock 13B, I put on the RB header, pre-silencer, and a Magnaflow muffler. It was a good sound. Not too loud but made an impression, not a tinny, fart can sound.

I sold the car last summer; buyer drove it home from here back to westen Illinois. After the pain in his ears subsided, he immediately replaced the muffler.

Custom header + Magnaflow + side exit here. All 2.5". Very loud, lot of metallic noise, but streetable. I'll be putting something else in the sidepipe to quiet it down just a bit. Without the muffler, it's almost unbearable.

I bought an 83 12A with a Racing Beat collected header two presilencers and an ebay special fart can.... I drove it 2 hours home from chicago and my ears were ringing the rest of the night....

I'm planning to use the same system but with the RB universal muffler

I ran my 85 gs with a 2.5 straight pipe running all the way back for like a year delivering pizzas when it was my only car. Kinda sounded like poopy to some ppl but it didn't bother me too much and damn did it free up some horses.

I will say taking girls out is not really and option and I did have about one person a week refer me to a muffler shop haha.

Sounds reasonable inside the car, however outside is another story!

I got booted from the local auto-x because of the noise. Was running an RB header with 2.25" pipe back to a fartcan.

It is loud.

When I got my pro7 car, it had the stock header to a 2.5" stright pipe. It wasn't to bad in the car with ear plugs and my helmet on. All the people around my house would close their doors and windows, then give me dirty looks when I would load it on the trailer.

Then I move to a diffrent class. So I could run a header. So I did a RB header with and expantion camber then it dumped before the axle. Mind you there is no noise limits at the tracks I race at. But I was the LOUDEST car on the track. Even with helmet and ear plugs I could not stand it. When I first started it at the house to put it on the trailer. I had 5 people at my garage to complain about it when I got out of the car. So it's not streetable, less you love tickets.

I HAD to put a muffler on it.

The RB header is the best bang for the buck. As far as a muffler, Magnaflow is also seems to be the best bang for the buck.

Just get the header and head to a muffler shop.

IMO, best bang for the buck are the RB universal mufflers. For $120 you get a muffler that's quieter than a Magnaflow and looks a hundred times nicer. And knowing Racing Beat, they should last forever.
