stock carb...need some help

I got my 84 GSL a little while ago, but it dodnt come with a carb. The guy I got it from had a Holley carb/manifold on it, but took it off before he sold the car to me. I got a stock carb/manifold to put on, but Im very lost. I dont even really know where to start. I dont plan on having any of the emissions stuff on the car, and the air pump is already gone, as are the cats. What vacuum ports can I just cap off, and what ones do I need to do something else with? I plan on using premix, so I dont need to worry about the oil metering system. Can anyone help me out?

Have you heard of the Yaw Power carb. deals? This guy takes your carb and strips all the emissions stuff off of it, rebuilds it, and can even port out the intake or re-jtet the carb. i believe.

forgot the web page. maybe someone could chime in and help out?

I guess I didnt get my purpose across in my first post. This car will be getting a TII engine and tranny soon, but I want to drive it some on the 12A before I do the swap while I do a few things to my FC. I want to get it running for a relatively short time, with as little money into it as possible.

Are there any vacuum ports I need to do something with other than cap off? If so, where are they, and what do I need to do to them?

I thought I had them all capped off, except the vacuum advance one. I guess some of the little plug things fell off. Just cap everything except one port on the black spacer, and use a tee to run two lines to the vacuum advance on the dizzy (if you are using the advance).

Thanks a lot. One question though. The nipple between the 2 oil injection nipples that looks different than the vacuum nipples, what do I do with that? Plug it like the rest? What is it for?

I think it is for some smog ****. I'm pretty sure you just cap it off. I can't really recall right now though.

Hey I don't know if this helps out or not, but you need a completly different mindset for working on a 1st gen = ).
Remember that NOTHING is computer controlled on your car.
Just take the butterfly out of the lower intake manifold, plug up basically every vacuum line on the emissions rack/carb, and go from there. Its probably much easier to start with things as simplified as possible and then go from there with your problems.

All that is done, the carb came off my car. I don't know where all the caps I had on there went to...

There were no caps on the carb itself, but the black plastic thing had all the nipples capped off. Everything on the manifold was capped off too.
