Steering
Hey Guys,
I was just wondering what modifications has anyone done to improve their steering. I have found this is one of te worst things about the first gen, it feels like you have to turn a lot to get the wheels to move. Are their any cheap modifications to make it better?
Thanks guys.

Cheap? No.
The stock manual steering does have a kinda slow ratio. But on the bright side, it's still a lot quicker than, say, an E30 M3.
The power steering option on the '84-85 models is a bit quicker, which is nice, but it's kinda numb and rubbery, which isn't nice.
I'm contemplating a rack and pinion swap. No rubber bushings, 12:1 steering ratio... should be good All depends on some critical dimensions. One thing that isn't so nice is that the oil pan will have to be modified, and possibly the engine raised up a tad.
