Question starter wires

I hav had a heart operation,my memory is shot, but getting better. I replaced a starter that was removed over a year ago. There are two studs on the solenoisd this is a starter on the bottom side of the tranny. outer one to the battery, right? what goes on the other? I cant find anything that fits it. and the spade plug wire is too short to reach the solenoid. Everything comes on ,but the starter wont turn. How bad have I screwed up ????????????? Bob

Bob, sorry to hear that you were ill. Hope you have a sppedy recovery.

At the top middle of the solenoid belongs the wire from the ignition circuit. Trace the wires that are in the same location as the trans wires. It should be one of those with a spade connector.

The driver's side lug gets the pos battery cable, the other gets nothing. Battery ground goes to the top starter bolt on the engine side. Not sure why the ignition wire for the solenoid is too short, I pinched one between the tranny and engine one time. Follow the wire back and see if it's caught somewhere.

Thank you guy's. I think its my light weight wire with the spade on it that is the problem. These things frustrate me so . its on my RX3 little wagon. but that is the same as a 12A I think. Getting old is not for sissies.
