Started my turbo 12a today, good news and bad
hey everyone, i got my car started today, it still needs ALOT of little things before its perfect, i need an EFI fuel filter, im still waiting for my dizzy, i need to tune the carbeurator, i need to get my wiring harness rebuilt so i can have all my sensors working, i need new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, set timing 93 octane gas....thats all i can think of right now
ANYHOW, i got the car unflodded and it fired up, a little rough at first, but thats normal, it will not idle, i had to hold the gas pedal down to keep it running, i had it running it sounded VERY happy i let it run for a few mins and i tried revving it up, it goes up to about 3.5k and then has some serious hesitations, i did drive the car up and down my road a little bit, it seemd to start to hit boost at around 3k then it would cut out and sputter i never tried to push it past 3.5 because im not running 93 octane at the time and i dont have an EFI fuel filter, well heres the bad news, i accidentally killed it and i couldnt get it to fire back up, i think its having flooding issues, and i need a fuel pump cutoff switch on top of all that its got shitty plugs, wires etc.....
i would apprieceate any and all input, suggestions etc.....

sounds like youre getting there. I cant wait till I start my car up for the first time. Gettin kinda scared htough, everyone seems ot be having trouble with their turbo 12a setups right about now. Personally, I still have to tune my carb, finish up my intercooler mounting, and run my intecooler plumbing. then I should be good to go, but we'll see. I'll be waiting to hear more about your car in the future

post some pictures man, i want to see
when i started up my 2.3 rx7, she was doing the exact same thing. new plugs, cap, and rotor cleared all that up. i highly recommend you try that, and put some 93 in there. im sure it will clear atleast some of the issues up.

I doubt octane is keeping it from running properly. As long as you are shifting before the boost then any octane is fine. The high octane fuel is required when the boost hits, to prevent detonation as you already know by now. Are you using a BOV? Just wanted to ask.
