Holy **** thats one of the worst cars I've ever seen, god thats bad.
As per the question above 16 ga mild steel sheet metal will do just fine for the inner wheel wells. Use 22ga sheet for the visual parts, like those rear quarters. For the wheel wells cut out all the bad stuff and make some kind of patch and weld it in, the main thing there is to keep it pretty close to the original shape so its still strong and the tires etc won't rub on it. Whatever you do make sure to you get all the rust off and seal it up with something right away to keep it from coming back.

In England, they'll take a pos car (like a Morris Marina) that is much worse that above and restore it to almost pristine conditions. Only problem is that it still is a pos car.

That's funny. I briefly had a Austin Marina, snot green color as I recall, in the early 80s. I can't remember why I got rid of it, and the next car was a Ford Maverick. Not sure what I was thinking back then.

It looks like that yellow car had a spoiler on it (look at the shape of the rust going up the sides) which might have gotton leaves and salt etc stuck under and just started rotting. Granted something could have been done earlier to save it, but someone stopped caring....
Glad I made your day guys

I don't know about the rear quarter replacement...I bought one and welded it in...the person who made it made the crease with two half inch grades, instead of a 7/8'' and 3/8'' alot of hard body work it was to make the crease match up with the door lines
