Semi-related question. Which intake manifold were you going to use? I still have the SA and FB ones sitting here.

As for the intercooler, the Chinese-made ones are ok. Look on eBay.

WEll everything is pretty much ready to go. Except i need a wideband. starting to assemble pieces. THe fuel pump i got in is the msd 2225. mixed sources say goodthings and bad things some say it isnt enough as a stand alone others say it is. I am at a loss what to do. Walbro 255 or msd 2225. OTher than that waiting on some parts from sam and billy at respeed. Intercooler and pipeing are on there way and will be tthe weekend project after i finish ******* around with a quad 4.

Wow, it looks like you had some fun with that manifold. I can see why a '79 style might work better for you since there is no ACV stuff to worry about.

All manifold modifaction adn turbo adapter setup is courtsey of billy at respeed.

For those of you who dont know billy can handle all your custom needs. He has been super helpfull and more than willing to think outside the box. Truley a great fabricator and i cant say enough things to boost his rep. Hopefully he will chime in here and let everyone know what he did!!!

I should have cleaned the floor a bit before I took the pictures

Very tightly fit. Not a 1/4" to spare in any direction.

Looks good on Billy's car. Now too see what it looks like on Ben's! Glad to see someone else is trying to stuff a turbo under the stock intake. I may have some compition before it's all over. But seriously, no contest, just get it up and running and you will never go back to NA again! Looking like your finally getting down to the last few things.

I have faith when billy said it would bolt on. Not concerned at all about clearance anymore with major things. Maybe a grind here and there but looks ****. I am down to the last few things Sam. Carb from you carb hat from somewhere and a downpipe, wideband thats it. Scariest part is yet to come........drilling the front cover.

Sooner she runs sooner she goes to paint..... Stuck between Hugger Orange with a Black roof or just all Black

That's great. Now send me a PM.

Oh and you'll need 10mm x 1.5 nuts.

Tonight i decided to clean the new intake i got from billy. What a chore that was to get that gasket off. I really have no idea how long this was on the ca but it sucked. When i took of the acv block off plate on my old one and cleaned the grime off, i found this!?!

How long has it been since rotary enginering went out of biz? Or are they still around?

Anyway i had to remove this pile of crap. That also sucked ***! i had to mangle the butterfly just to get this damn thing out!!!

Anyway some final shots of the intake. WHat do you guys recomend for gasket material behind the acv plate? there was silicone on there didnt leak so meh.....

If it is warm later saturday i will DRILL THE FRONT COVER!!!!

That's some nice progress and I like the Rotary Engineering ACV plate. Some RTV will seal it up again.

So I take it you're no longer interested in my '79 manifold then? I could have saved you a lot of trouble. No need for the ACV blockoff plate, no need to scrape gaskets, no need to remove and block the shutter valve.

This is just to inform everyone who may be thinkng of doing a project like this; get yourself a '79 manifold. You might still have to cut and weld the lower part, maybe, but it's less time consuming to deal with the rest of it. Of course you will need to know whether you have a functuioning ACV port and add a cover pice of aluminum accordingly.

Mock of intercooler. Looks like it should be fine here. About 4-5" from front of radiator.

Also drilled pilot hole in front cover. Small issue. THe plug thats going in is 3/8th npt. So what size bit should i use to leave enough for threads when i tap it?

Front cover is tapped for oil return and all is good so far in that area!

Coolant passages are next. What do you guys recomend jb weld or rtv on the 20mm frost plugs.

I cant belive pineapple sells them for 8bucks a pair when i got mine for 25c a piece. What a joke.

Engine bay is comeing together fast. Waiting on my boost prepped carb back from Bad83 (sam) a carb hat and thats it for parts!!! After engine bay is done i will run my new return line. Tank is all ready to except it too What size does everyone recomend? 3/8 1/2

When i put in my freeze plugs they did not require any JB Weld. I wouldnt use epoxy, specially because freeze plugs are designed to blow in case the coolant "freezes."

Have fun pressing them in, lol. There were a lot of curse words that day
