Sta-Bil vs Sea Foam

I store my 85 Gs over the winter and in the past have always used sta-bil to keep the gas from going bad. It has worked fine so far. This year I was wondering if I could use Sea Foam instead. I have almost a full tank of gas and I added a can of Sea Foam to it. I don't know if I'll be able to run it out before I put it into storage. Could I fill it up as much as I can and add more Sea Foam or could I put in enough Sta-bil for the whole 16.5 gals.

Wondering what you guys think!

sta-bil keeps the fuel from going "dead". sea foam is for cleaning out carbon. i don't think sea foam has anything in it to keep the fuel from degrading over time. stick with what works for u.

Actually Mike, I believe Seafoam offers itself up as a gas preservative to IIRC.

Henningmd it won't hurt to have BOTH in the tank. Lot of Forum members (me included) will run a can of seafoam thru a tank of gas every few months.
BUT: highly recommend you FILL tank with gas to absolute BRIM for storage. On my SA that means using a jerrycan for the final bit because station pumps kick out before it gets completely full. The idea is you want NO air in the tank. Air=condensation=moisture=rust=plugged fuel lines, etc.

Before storing my Gs I drive it to the gas station, put in the sta-bil and then fill it up as much as possible. Yeah the pump does kick out but I keep on topping it off until gas reaches the top of the fill tube. I don't worry about a small bit of air and the resulting condensation too much as where I live we have to use the "reformulated" gas which contains upto 10 percent ethanol which I understand has an afinity(sp?) for water.

Seems like the best bet is to run it with the seafoam in it for now and then just top it off and add stabil.

Thanks!
