Spring rates for racing

I'm fixing up an '84 GSL-SE to roadrace and autocross, it's never going to be street driven. I'm planning on getting a setup from groundcontrol. I just got off the phone with them and the guy I talked to was reccommending getting the coilover conversion for the front and the racing rear springs (altough you can't really cornerweight the car with only coilovers on the front). Anyways I was thinking for the rear 200 lb/in and for the front 350 lb/in. The car is also completely stripped but has a rollcage to give an idea of the car's weight.

I run 350# up front and still runing stock out back..

the general consensus is that 200# in the rear is a bit stiff, but that's depending on preference/set-up..

Post in the racing section and you'll get good info.

Thanks, How does it handle with it being so much more stiff up front? To the other guy I was basically looking for advice on spring rates.

good luck finding those... Most places are just selling the 175# or the 200#

With the stock springs in teh rear and the stuff *** springs up front it actually handles pretty well. I can kick the tail out to my hearts content, which is how I've learned to AutoX... I'm going to be going to to the ground control 175# springs here shortly so I can get the ride height dropped a bit at least..

I think my "not spending" spree is about to end...
