Speeds above 85mph with no Speedo.

So I seen some Rx7 and was smashing with him on the freeway and ****, but I'd like to know how fast I was going.

I was at 6,500grand in 5th gear, but my speedo stops at 85mph.

Is there any way to find out speed per RPMS and gear for my 82gsl?

yes. go slower than 85 in fifth. get set at a consistent rpm, anything will do. while your at that rpm note what your speed is. then go up about 500-1000 rpms and see where your speed is now. lets say you get 10 mph faster going up 1000 rpm and you started at 3k rpm. well for every 1000 rpms you gain 10mph, then at 6.5k you would have gained approximately 35mph. these numbers are random so just go test it yourself, very easy to do. i had to use this method when we had my friends turbo diesel going approximately 160mph. his gauge only registers 100 and when we got going a certain speed it just went back to zero and his digital odomenter turned into ----------. it was crazy but just do this and you should have a pretty close idea what you were running.

also, i once had my old rx7 up to about 135-140mph and i was either right at redline or some near there. i wasnt too worried about the speed and rpm, i was more concerned with loosing the person i had behind me...the fuzz.

I had mine around 6,000-6,500 rpm's and was doing somewhere around 130, not very sure because I was keeping my eyes on the road and not the speedo.
