Speed Wobbles
I am currently in the process of restoring a GSL SE. I have got it re-registered and running after it sat for 8 years. So, it drove okay, no power steering. After awhile when i go above 60 or hit bumps the steering wheel would shake and shake and i would hear this awfull noise from the front right wheel. I swapped my aftermarket wheels with ones with the OEMs and it toned down. But then when i go on tbe freeway and bit 65+ it would do it again.
Any suggestions? Solutions? Steps i need to take?
Thanks
-Dave (18 and just started to learn about cars/rotaries)

Wheel bearings? I'd suggest having a really good look before driving it again as if those fail they will take the spindle with them and you'll be shopping for an entire front strut. Mazdatrix.com has the bearings you'll need, if you need them.
Also check the idler arm bushings. They tend to wear out and are a pretty cheap fix. Check the tie rods, both inner and outer as well.

I've had a similiar issue before, mine would go away from time to time depending upon if i was turning slightly to the right/left.
It ended up being the front wheel bearings were shot.
