Spark plug hypothesis
I'm thinking that these Bosch plats, indexed in the housing so the fuel mixture passes between the ground electrodes, backed by an Accel 300+ DLIDFIS ignition system, oughtta kick some major spark butt...
Pic butchered from AutoWeek ad.....

I read your email
WARNING: boys and girls don't try this at home unless you're damn sure that they don't stick into the chamber else you'll bust the apex seals first crank.
Give it a shot Mario, let us know how it goes.

That is the point of indexing and all. ..I'm going to dyno 3 major changes I'm interested in, before and after stuff. Two this year and the other next year, all at Alamo Autosports. First will be the electric fan change, then a nitrous shot (Yes, they will let you dyno that... ) and finally, next year, DLIDFIS with this spark plug change for the back half of the hour on that day. The big question is whether or not Bosche even makes the plug for a 12A....

Another spark plug mod that look interesting is the Side Fire Spark Plug Conversion. Paul Yaw also talks about side fire as well as a lot of other stuff about spark plugs on his IGNITION SYSTEM page.

I've run Bosch platinums in my RX4's 13B in the past, they had a real strong midrange, but the top end was better with the BR8EQ14. The Bosch plugs were real good at starting oil-fouled motors, though, so I used to haul 'em around when I'd be messin' with old rotary cars out in fields and such. I lost track of them sometime back and would sure like to know what the number was. I think it was like "WR4CP" or something like that.
The best performing plugs I tried in my RX4 were NGK B8EV gold palladium plugs, but they just didn't last very long.

I don't buy the bit about the mixture going between the Gap. However close to the limit you run the elecrodes will be recessed from the mixture.
What you want to do is fire the spark kernel out into the mixture. Take a peek at adrenaline research and their 'special' spark plugs. Problem is though, if you generate the ultimate spark you tend to knock out every car radio for 100yrds with W13B FM.
However any experiments in this field are valid, if only to save the rest of us a few $$$. I recommend getting a junked housing to check that the electrode is recessed enough.
When having a play I found that the denso plugs actually have the longest electode WxxERB I think. Worth a play once you've worked out their nutty heat range numbers

Indexing is installing the spark plugs so that the ground electrodes all face a certain way in the combustion chamber. It's done by using copper washers of varying thicknesses. In theory it's meant to increase performance by giving the air/fuel mixture better exposure to the spark.

Got Boost?
There is merit in doing this, but its going to be such a small power increase that you probably won't really feel it. Indexing alone, I've been told is good for around a 1-2% increase. So on our engines it should be good for a 1-2Hp increase. Not bad when complemented by other aspects of tunning...

No AIM....'bout to hit the sack....it'll be the streetport...the 12A in the '83 now is going to do a "survival" night at Kennedale to see what a 25, 50 then a 75 shot of nitrous will do to a high mileage stock 12A rotary....for that night, I'll call and let you know so you can swing a ride out here...
