source for Solex parts?
I just got a sweet deal on a dual side draft intake manifold and a pair of 40MM ADDHE Solex's, but I'm having touble finding parts for the carbs.
Does anyone know a good source for ADDHE Solex parts? Also, do they use the same velocity stacks as the DCOE Weber's or are they unique. I know when I bought a new Weber it said "REDLINE-WEBER" on one corner of the box and "SOLEX" on the other.
The major part I need is a fuel inlet circled as missing in the attached picture. It would be nice to score a couple of gasket kits as well.

I dunno anything much about weber/solex (other than the ones I used to have years ago on my VW's). But, that looks like a standard banjo fitting. If you can pull the other one and measure the threads (size/pitch metric or standard), you can find a replacement easy. Pegasus racing supplies has alot of that kinda stuff. They have a website but I dont remember it off hand, just do a yahoo search.

I'm getting confusing info about Solex carbs, some sources link them with Mikuni's, while others link them with Webers. Both Weber and Solex are owned by Magneti Marelli, but I can't find any Solex corporate website. I think some Solex's may come from Brazil, but mine both say "Made in Italy"... and I found one site that said Solex started as a French company...
I may have to source parts from overseas, which means mega $$$!

Solex was its own company. Standard equipment on many VWs.
Mikuni bought the deisign patten when Solex was no longer (can't remember the exact year).
There are very few parts from a Mikuni that you can actually use. And these parts are limited to early Mikunis! This is for the PHH series in both brands. They do share mouting size/pattern, and the velocity stacks are close, if not the same.
Don't give up on finding parts! Check ebay frequently. Check with VW part suppliers. There still are kits out there.

I'm still waiting to hear from some Solex carb rebuilders whether or not they can source the parts I need. If the company is no more, that would explain why I can't find a corporate website... but then why are they still listed under the Magneti Marelli website as a brand they own, I wonder?

I think I've found a source through Ebay. Some chick over in Italy (all the coolest stuff comes from there) has got a crap-load of ADDHE Solex's and parts. She said the banjo fitting is only $4.50 US dollars, so I can get that and a couple of rebuild kits for under $30 w/ shipping.
As far as measuring threads goes, it's an odd size (9MM X 1.00) which proves tough to find a generic fitting.
