So I was looking at a Nissan 350Z online...
... and was thinking about the combo strut tower bar/speaker enclosure.
While yes, I am still busting my *** on the hidden ones, and that's what the people who ordered them will be getting, I'm debating trying this as my next thing, either for the FB or my FC. What do you all think?

Onward thru the fog!
That looks nice, but from the little research I've done, the subs need to be pointed back and tilted up toward the rear hatch glass for best sound. The hatch area is relatively small so 8's are way more than enough. And yeah, the OEM rear speakers that point pretty much towards each other is not a great design and they tend to concentrate and cancel out the sound. I think they would be much better incorporated into door panels pods.
For a sub try this. Take a boxed sub you already have and point it forward from the rear. Crank and listen. Now flip it and point it straight up. Listen. Next, bring it forward to the bins and angle up slightly towards rear glass and listen again. If you hear no difference then it doesn't matter for you. But if you hear a considerable difference then you'll see what I mean. Not just "boom", but quality. It's an easy experiment and might surprise some of you.

Oh, OK. When he mentioned "the hidden ones" I thought he was talking about the subs. And don't get me wrong, I really admire the prototypes he posted for the hidden subs and I like the designs I saw. He has way more talent and ability than I. I'm just throwing out a few thoughts.

I know first hand that the bar in the middle of the back SUCKS for trying to put anything in there. I know most of you will say that its a sports car not a freaking truck or SUV. But it still sucks when you have to pick something up at the store.
But Blwfly I dont see how if he made the bar that came across on top the the storage bins that holds the speakers and the two lil cubbys. How that would kill storage space.
We could still have the subs in the back and then put some nice speakers behind our heads that way would could hear the music good when we got the windows down.
Im not a sound buff, so I dont know if this type of set up would work, but im sure someone on here knows and is dying to voice their knowledge on us

Oh, and $100t2 lets see some pictures of your mock-up.

Anything to make the car more enjoyable. I have flush mount headlights, smooth tail light covers and $100T2 fenders to build before I get to it... I just like to kick around new ideas to help my brain keep spinning.
The other thing I've been debating is all new wheel well covers with sub enclosures molded in. It would reduce the width of the cargo area, but would keep the same length and not affect the goddamn spare tire.

see that too me I think would be the ultimate setup right there speakers on one side and subwoofers on the other, plus you can hide a roll bar in there too. As far as trunk space goes ... i think that there will still be plenty of room left ... I won't be able to take any more tires if i have a passenger but thats the only draw back that I see. There would still be enough room for grocery shopping and the sunroof and straps can all still be usuable.
