just curious how it is going with all your first gen projects. im not that far on mine yet, the car is pretty much stripped, im working on restoring the SE rear end i just bought before i put it in. its gonna be 12A powered with large streetport and a race port exhaust, hardened stationary gears, etc all the goodies. later on down the road im gonna install a turbo setup with an s4 or s5 turbo. so what about u guys......

Mine has been off the road for a month now. Engine is finally being re-assembled today. Streetported newly rebuilt. In the meantime, got a tranny in good condition and got it swapped with the old worned out one, got an air/oil cooler to replace the behive, cleaned the bay, battery, cut and rewire the battery terminals cables, got a yohoo belt to handle squealing. Engine install should happen tomorrow and then back on the road!!!
Oh! and in the process of acquiring a rebuildable Nikki to send to Banana boy for beauty treatment...

Well my rx7 has been completely sandblasted and is now just waiting to finsh up some minor welding (wheel wells). The car was seam welded aswell. Once thats all done the underbody is getting painted body colour then everything gets put backtogether....and then the fun of tuning the microtech......

Does a previously piston powered car count? I dropped in a rebuilt 13B but it's having pre-break-in issues (poor idle, low power etc). I'm thinking about biting the bullet and trying a 20B in it... unless of course someone can convince me to keep the 13B in it (heh, not likely). I've just gotta see if my custom intake and ignition will work first.

My SA has been sitting since I got it. Still don't know what to do with it yet and the cost of rust repair. Otherwise, the body is very straight. I'm looking at stripping the car (thank god these cars are easy to work on) and having it repainted Formula Red (NSX color). Don't know what to with engine yet.

I had mine all together, perfect rotor housings, decent sized streetport, weber 48 dco-sp, custom aluminum tube intake manifold, engine was studded. But it turns out I broke though into a coolant passage while doing the studding, so those housings are fucked. Luckily I still have a set of perfect side plates, and 2 housings with very minimal chrome flaking off. So I'll be street porting them and building a new engine for my car, without the studding. I'll have my car back on the road in 3 weeks TOPS. It'll be maxing out the TII turbo, so it'll have around 300hp. And once I get my other damn computer fixed I'll put up some pics for you guys.

Just waiting for my RB streetport holley, and my 12a Spitfire will be back on the road. Should come in thursday. In the mean time I wired up direct fire and a carter fuel pump. Got the horn to work (yee-haw), re-heat sink compounded the ignitors, blocked off the OMP. Been doing lots of detail work I would rather not do, I would rather drive. Soon, soon.

over the winter i cleaned up the upper intake and replaced all the hoses...then after waking her up from winter swapped out the springs, struts, tires, brakes, battery, bushings, calipers...just this past weekend the muffler was replaced with an RB...next will be my rear bearings...after that my tranny...
BUT
I FINALLY PASSED INSPECTION TODAY!!!

well after a greulling semester, i am finally back home for a few weeks. i started putting the car together yesterday, took it out for a test drive last night - damn i miss that thing! hopefully, i'll have it done by the end of the summer and can start driving it again.
tonight, i finally got off my *** and tore down the old 12A. i'm planning to give a nice streetport and try a few other ideas i've had as well - should be fun. it's going to need some parts for the rebuild, but as long as it gets done by the time i head back to school, that's all i care about.
i want to spend some time cleaning up the engine bay and getting a few odds and ends (rear brakes, brake cables, door seals, etc.). that's about where everything stands right now ...

my 83 gs is totally gutted, only the steering and enough suspension to hold it off the ground remain. I'm in the process of patching the many rust holes. The brand new MIG welder is sure getting a workout, coming out good though. I had plans of seam welding the whole car, but I lack a rotisserie (will definatly get one before restoring my next project, the 83 S) and welding upside down doesn't work too well. I also had plans of sandblasting the whole underside, but again I couldn't for the same reason as I just mentioned. Oh well, a wire wheel and por15 will have to do for this car. Its going to be a year round daily driver, so i'm not gonna kill myself with the udnerside, as long as its sealed and the rust holes are fixed I'm happy. Once I get farther along I'll post some pics.

Engine is back in the car - albeit streetported and dowel pinned now. Only about 60 miles on it, need about 400 more to go to give it a good redline.
Gonna take forever when I only drive it about an hour a week.
After break-in, will be swapping my ultra-lite gauges for my cobalt ones, and then working on modernizing the interior.
Been talking to a friend about swapping in a Ford 8.8 rear end, but still undecided on that.

I ended up buying an Atkins motor to get my GSL-SE going.
I have some pictures here, but they are as-is right after I bought the car. It looks like DirectFreak's car, except not as good.

I'm cleaning the engine bay out right now. That dirt is SO hard to get off. Steam doesn't work, soap doesn't work, and none of those natural degreasers work. It looks perfect when wet, then when it dries, there is still dirt.
Any suggestions?

Still in the process of undersealing the back 1/2 of the car, and getting the EA Ford Falcon diff transplanted correctly. After that comes the engine - six months of gruelling engine-bay detailing, assembly, and empty bank accounts. It's worth it

I`am still battling it out with the nikki.
Fitted my AFR meter last week.
The igniton system is not as fresh anymore..i`ll be doing a dual leading system sometime soon in the future. With different ignitors and everything
One day...i`ll make decent hp with this Nikki.Even it i have to break all my fingers to get it right

Just got back from a year overseas, so my project is right where I left it: on jackstands in the garage.
Tokico shocks/springs are on, PST bushings all around, RB front sway, rebuilt brakes are about 95% complete; once they're done the new Sumitomos go on.
Next step: pull the seized 12A and replace it with the used one I picked up. Tear down/rebuild/port the old engine at my leisure. RB SP exhaust that I picked up used, plus an "inspection only" cat/midpipe (PA passed a new emissions law while I was gone! Visual only for cars that old.) New clutch.
New carpets, then put the interior back together.
Prep and paint, Sunrise Red.
Give it to my son when he turns 16 (3 1/2 years). Until then it's mine!
Car is a '84 "S" that spent the last 10 years of its life in someone's driveway, following the engine seizure. 103,000 miles, rustproofed.

My GS has been down to bare steel for a month, getting paint and a factory sunroof. Just need a few little things and a lot of motivation to get it done.

Hopefully will install the Mariah front air dam and hella lights this spring. I've got a Sterling carb on order and that's gonna go in as well. I'd like to get rid of the Tociko springs and put some RB's on her then I'm pretty much done after that.
Someday when the stock 12A craps out (only has 75K on it) I might rebuild and streetport it or drop a 13B SP into it. Nothing too wild. This car is simply a weekend mountain cruiser for me..
