Oh well, I guess it's me.

Bob Holden and everyone else you'd better move down a notch!

I'm 54 years and 242 months old, which makes me just over 74. I've had four Series 1 Rx-7s, two from new, my current one being a 1982 Savanna LSD Special Edn - see website at:
http://savanna-rx7.co.uk
I really like the car and always have. Mazda broke my heart when they introduced the Series 2 in about 1985, it just seemed so unappealing compared with the Series 1. I bought one new in 1985 but never really liked it . so it's series 1 all the way for me.

Well they always say "You are only as old as you feel." Which makes me 20 going on 106. Never grow tall, its a terrible strain on the body.

Hi ! Thanks for the comments. There are a lot of young folk on here and to me they seem anything but stupid, most know far more than I ever will about the Rx-7 !

That's my problem - I'm no car mechanic but OK at computer stuff, graphics, web design etc.

Best wishes

Frank

I can't compete for geezer, I am 44. I've owned by 1982 GSL for 22 years now. My father liked it so much he bought an '85 GSL in '85. I bought it from him about 7 years ago. The '82 at 195K miles looks 22 years old, but the '85 at 110K miles looks and feels new.

I am 51 and bought my 81 new off the lot (at sticker price). It gets driven every day. My last job (14 years long) was only a 5 mile commute so it dosen't have that many miles.

Wow, looks like the 1st gen stretches over all age groups. Interesting.

I just turned 18 on the 15th of this month. Had my 7 for 7 months (almost to the day) already and haven't even driven it. All I get to do untill I get my oil cooler is sit in the car and imagine what its like to drive it. Even thats fun though. Just the look of the cockpit makes me want to drive it sooooo bad.

Looks like most of us younger kids are just post ****** too. The older members have fewer posts than the younger members. Either that or the older members just don't know how to use a computer very well. J/K

Early 50s, as I recall. GSLs are the perfect geezer car, a touch of class (esp. with leather interior and all the accessories working) and nothing you can't fix based on what you learned in high school auto mechanics (yes, that'd be late 60s). Here's my 100+ mile a day daily commuter:

well as a Geezerette...my SA brings back memories of being single, hot and a touch wild...girfriends stuffed in the hatch, 3 across the front...heading out to dances on hot summer nights with the sun roof off....

all you youngsters out there...time flies...trick is to keep your heart young.

Being 51 and female rx7-er....i dont feel any different then i did at 22 when she( my 79 )and I weren't considered classics.

Spare time? Well, right now I'm trying to network my old IBM TP570s with the new T40. Then I could crossload all the wireless drivers for all the wireless cards I've got, as well as personal stuff. Microsoft sure makes it hard. At least with the old Thinkpads I could resort to the infrared connection, but even that seems to be a problem. Guess I'll burn a CD.

Anyone know an easy way to network old Win2000 systems with XP? (Ran into the same problem moving from win98 to win2000: never solved it.) I figure there should be some way to do it thru the wireless AP which has an R45 "LAN" spigot.

Maybe I'll just DL a wireless driver from the web over 56k. Bah.

Spent the weekend tiling wifes bathroom. Got her started putting in click-lock floor in her new addition (claimed I couldn't get down on floor to do it because of knees). She did decent job, amidst tears of frustration, even cut planks with circle saw (gave her little DeWalt 12volt 5" trim saw and DW 18volt jigsaw to keep it simple). Of course, she didn't notice the planks at the starting end moved 1/2" away from the wall, but now she decided that's OK. I think I can fix that with 2 power suction cups and a car jack.

Gentlemen,

So far I have the age group beat by quite a bit. I will be 65 June 21 and am trying to save the Social Security money for up grades on my 1983 Rx7. Have a GSL LSD to install sometime this year. Love to run in Solo II here in Louisville, KY. I need to buy Hoosiers but have not yet decided what wheel is best.

Anyway, it is good to hear of the ages of all the characters out there that are playing on the "track" of course. Ha... haven't received a summons for over 20 years until I bought the Rx.

Best regards,
THC
