I just finished having some fabrication done to my lower intake for the s/c and will be making some porting improvements to the end plates as well. Update to follow upon completion.

How bout naming it Wish-it-was-a-whipple? It looks so nicely put together and everything, but it's just sad to see that blower. Other than that blower that thing looks ready to haul!

It does haul! Long term future, if (or when) mine wears out, send it to whipple for a fabricated replacement fitment.

I guess compared to a 12A it would hehe, I'm a bit spoiled, I generally feel like I'm standing still unless I'm over 250whp! When it comes to superchargers, it's hard to beat a whipple (or any twin-screw really)

I would agree, but I have what I have. I started with a stock 6port SE and it is much strong than stock now. I am happy with the Camden, however my expectations were higher.

Yeah, that's the biggest issue, a high price tag and high expectations, and not a lot of delivery. Sadly, a whipple follows the same high price tag, though it surely can deliver. If the camden unit used a little more modern technology and a bit more time on the manifolds, I'm sure it could do a whole lot better though. But anyway, not to take away from the time & money spent on the ride, it sure is nice!

One of the biggest issues is hood clearance. Removing the spacer and turning the carb straight us will help mine,

SonicRat,
I just wanted a supercharger, I by no means take the car racing, just nice spirited curvy drives on the weekends on country roads. Plus if I hear another blowoff valve going off on a Honda, I might just borrow my husbands Glock and go crazy. LOL

84stock,
that carb looks really nice. The carb hat and cone filter looks huge, in one of those pics, looks bigger than the blower. Or is it the angle? Do tell the measurements.

Anyways, I ordered the cooling mist water/methanol injection kit and bought a 1" spacer that I will drill and tap for the injector and a 1/8th male pipe, but now i'm really worried about hood clearance. Crap! I don't know where else to mount that frickin injector. Scary cause I don't want a hood scoop.

Back to that carb hat, would cutting up some 4" mandrel "U" tubing and making sort of like a cold air design be any good? I would think it would, considering it would not be sucking in hot engine compartment air.

Oops, forgot to add my update.

So I have been drill and tap happy. I did the 1/4"NPT 90 on the front cover for the oil return, but forgot to take pics. I will later today

I also drilled and tapped the s4 housing's extra hole to accept a short bolt. On the other side of that hole, I did drill and tap and will be putting in an allen head threaded plug with hondabond to seal it. Here's a pic of my powdercoated s4 pump housing mocked up on the motor with my new water pump:

Here's a pic of both of them side by side. Geez the stock fb housing is heavy!!

Today i'm going to swap the oil filter stand that came in yesterday, and find 2 quarters to stuff in the cooling holes. Since my car is an 85, do the quarters have to be from 1985?
Hahaha girl humor!

You can always plumb a BOV back into the intake so you can't hear it anymore. A properly sized turbo makes more torque lower in the band than the camden charger does as well, (and continues to make more). I just think it's kind of strange that for less than half the price you could have someone port the engine and end up with a similar powerband (and probably even more power), that and the cost for 35whp doesn't seem worth it, regardless of driving style. But you're getting me off topic! It's a nice car, and that's all that matters.

Not meaning to get you off topic, 3 grand for 35whp? thanks for the compliment

I'll probably spend more time and money sending out my block or trying to get a turbo all pieced up, or both. Cause there aint **** fb rotary here in IL.(Reasonably priced atleast) and being that i'm female (not butch may I add) I'd rather deal with the bolt on aspect, heat issues, and my 35whp. All off the shelf and easily resourced.

A well made turbo manifold for my 12a is not a common off the shelf item and it is not easily resourced. Some of you guys have that luxury. I happen to not, plus I like getting my nails done everyother week.

Haha!

Yeah, being able to just bolt it on is about the only nice advantage. You poor FB guys (and girls!) don't have the ease of the FC crowd, but it's still not too far out of reach, so long as ya don't mind getting dirty here and there!

What's the supercharger and necessary bits worth? And has it been done on a 12A with any success?

I didn't drill and tap my front cover, I got an aftermarket one (marine I think) that had the a steel bung in it. Your hood clearnace will be an issue, you have no room for additional spacers! I shaved the camden spacer 1/4" to gain clearance and will no be going without their spacer. My injector will be in the K&N plenum into the airflow entering the carb.

Another update:

I decided to not go with the Holley carb and will be going side draft. I don't want to deal with hood clearance, and the jet for the water/methanol injection will need a 1" spacer, so I guess that's my decision.

I ended up making a heat shield out of stainless steel:

Not bad considering I used a grinder, 2x4's, and a hammer.

Today my plan is to finish installing the pump housing, water pump, and the blower. Pics later tonight!

Ha! better bring lots of cash! LOL
But hey! Good excuse to take out that pos Acura in the garage that my husband has been working on for years.

Here's pics of the 1/4"NPT tap I did on the cover:

And here's a pic of me that Carlos took. Note I have his Honda shirt on and it has given me bad luck! Time to burn it!

GET A MAZDA SHIRT!!!

1/4 pipe for the drain fitting? kinda small 1/2 pipe would be better for a gavity oil drain.. you dont want the oil backing up into the s/c.. just an observation....

I modified a teflon coated air bake cookie sheet for mine. Total cost $14.00 to run out and buy my wife a replacement when she found out.
