Sneak pic of my 85 supercharged 12a project

So far the process has been slow. Waiting on parts, needing parts, busy with work, etc.
But it's looking good. I put the stuff on to see how much clearance I need for the filter, so I figure I would take a picture.

Expensive, but well worth it for what I want. Stay tuned for the progress. Now I gotta find a name for my project. Any ideas?

Hey - let me know what you decide to do for an air filter. I'm using the triangular shaped Edelbrock and a lot of people have told me to get rid of it because it's restrictive and it's been known to catch fire. But I haven't been able to find anything that looks like it will fit under the hood.

Thanks,

Cool video.

Yeah I will let you know what I decide. I will also be trying out a sidedraft since I have the adapter for it and I have a feeling that I will like that better, but who knows. Tunning will tell.

Fuel restrictions? Where?

That's my plan since my husband is a Honda fanatic
Although I think he's having lots of fun working on the RX-7 with me, he just doesn't like to admit it.

Nice setup. Old rx guy I knew used a suercharger from a turbo coupe thunder bird. Just fabbed up 2 adapter plates on a racing beat intake and dropped a 650 holley on top. Made good power and sounded like a sport bike it reved so quickly.

Good luck looks nice!

for the air filter go with a GM HEI 14" offset base (from any speed shop) and a generic lid and 2 1/4" K&N filter. (you could use the K&N lid but it is a little tall). This setup cleared my hood.

Isn't that what it's suposed to do? LOL

Thanks for the pics and info on that.

But how dare you come into my thread and not post more pictures of your set up?
You should be ashamed of yourself. I insist that you make things right by posting more pictures of your set up. Especially the pump housing, and engine shots of all angles.

Clear your name and make things right for crying outloud! :smiley_12

Had plenty of experience with vaious pulleys too. Currently having my lower intake modified and waiting for a Barry Grant BP650 http://www.barrygrant.com/demon/default.aspx?page=14 double pumper blower carb too (this'll be my forth carb). Also waiting on a snow performance stage II water methanol injection kit. http://www.snowperformance.net/prodd...p?prod=Auto020 I expect this to help counteract the s/c heat buildup issues, but only the dyno will tell.

Hey 84stock - thanks for the air cleaner advice. I've thought about using a dropped base but didn't know if it would clear my linkage. I have a Holley 650 double pumper with a choke. Does your's have a choke?

Thanks,
Rich

very nice. I'd still like to have a super charged FB... I think it would go really good with that RB light weight flywheel I have and would have the best HP range for autocross, however I've always loved a turbo so turbo is what I went with.

Here's some pic's of a little polishing I've started on my s/c, my new demon 650 dbl pumper s/c carb, K&N carb hat and 4" supersize cone filter. I have hopes of either running the air filter as a remote in front of the rad or installing a TII scoop for a cold air intake in the future. The carb is chokeless with deep recessed venturies which should help compensate for the restricted hood clearance (inability to mount a 4" tall filter) and increase flow. Nice thing about the carb is you can tailor the secondaries to open with the primaries or have them staged later in the throttle opening. I plan on ditching the carb spacer by mounting the carb straight up to help with hood clearance.
