Smaller Fuel Tank

I am running an 85 GSL-SE in hillclimbs and my fuel tank has a hole in it.
I began thinking it would be so much better to run a fuel cell or a tank from another type car that is smaller. Anyone know of a smaller tank from any other makes or models that would bolt right in?

Most tanks are custom fit to each body/model. The nice thing about the 1st gens is the way the spare tire well is built into the body. Drill out all the spot welds and you can cover the hole with a flat sheet of steel. From there, you can easily mount a fuel cell with minor bracing.

I was leaning that way, but thought I would ask around to see what other tanks I could possibly use before I hit the junk yards. I suppose the weight benefits of the fuel cell outweigh (hehe) any benefits of another type tank, huh? I was thinking that I want to use a 5 - 8 Gallon fuel cell because we only run a couple of miles at a time. The longest hill we run is 2.3 miles and I get about 2.5 miles/gallon. I guess a 5 gallon tank would be fine. Don't want smaller because I don't want to refuel after each run, this size would get me through a morning or afternoon session.

I'm glad I don't have to pay your fuel bill, lol. Post pics when you get your car set up and some of the hillclimbs too.

Pic

I attached a picture of the cars running Duryea Hillclimb from last year. The green one is the 85 SE and the Maroon car is a 1980 GS with a 12A and a Sterling Carb.
We won our class championship last year as well.
The maroon car was totalled at the last event last year, so we are in the process of preparing another for this year. My brother drove the maroon one, which won the class and I drive the other.
There is still so much to do to make either of these cars really competitive against all those Miatas!
