it's "possible" but not a perfect fit. If I put those wheels on my car and drove around with them, i'd constantly be thinking, "what's going to happen? are my wheels going to shear off or something?" I don't like things that are a "partial fit"

17"s wheels FIT 1st gens and look great!

the key is the right offset, without that you will rub all to hell

40mm on a 17x7 is perfect no rubbing at all!

i used to have 16x7.5 with a 35mm offset that rubbed occasionally

here are some pics, first of my car with 17"s, lowering springs and a v8

all the pics below are 18" wheels or bigger!

the ones on the 86 are old work wheels i believe and the watanabe's are sweet as hell but i doubt they come in 4 by 110. I would just get a set of panas and paint them myself

Well, what bolt pattern does an 85 GSL-SE have? Hell, I'll convert it somehow to make the Watanabe's fit!!!! I want those so bad. But first I gotta get the car to the shop so I can work on it.

Well im happy with my choice of wheels. Just keep in mind to use the correct offset and you won't have problems.
