Thumbs up Sidedraft = AMAZING!

Well.. today I had a Mikuni sidedraft carb and manifold put on my 12a. I can't believe how freely it revs now! Before I was seriously scared to rev past 5.5k because it sounded like it was going to self-destruct, now it pulls to 7k and beyond so easy I sometimes forget to watch my revs. There is however some hesitation that's partially due to the fact i'm still using the stock fuel pump at the moment.. I have a Holly pump that's going on this weekend, so it should provide all the additional fuel I need. Thanks Wacky Rotary for making this install possible!

*edit* and I forgot to mention, the intake noise is almost louder than my exhaust, but it sounds incredibly sweet.

That is a completly different set up, the mikuni is more of a "webber" style carb correct me if I'm wrong. The holley set up is suposed to be good, but I've heard it has some float problems while cornering.

Are you able to use the stock omp with the Mikunis or are you premixing instead?

Thanks Mschafe on the praise! Save it till you have the holley pump and regulator feeding that thing. FUN FUN THEN!

Only thing that sucks about sidedrafts is the slightly loss of lowend bogging. Otherwise its fun at high rpm when fuel delievery is correct. I also love the intake roar of the sidedrafts, I can't hear it anymore with mine since its got a carb bonnet for the turbo that causes it to be muffled plenty.

I think I managed near 130mph when it was all set correctly.

the holley is 4 bbl (like the nikki) were as webber/mikuni is 2bbl. so teh holley will most likely have better lowend, less bogging issues because of that. but the 2bbl should have slithyly better flow in the high end rpm range gettin ya better top end power it totally depends on what you are lookign for in your setup. there ALOT mroe to it then that but thats jsut a rough idea

I'm going to post some pics later today... but I definetly like it better than the Nikki. Yes, I have noticed loss in the low end, but it was worth it for me.
