Side view mirrors

Can anyone tell me what year side view mirrors are interchangable? I have a an 80 SA, that I need both mirrors for. I have found a few FB's that I can get mirrors from but I want them to use the factory holes in the door? Also, will the power mirrors work on my SA even if I don't use the motors?

I have and 83 GSL that has black mirriors that look just like the silver mirrors on the 79 i'm buying. My GUESS is that all 83 and older RX-7s have the same style of mirrior.

(Hit me up in a few weeks... I might be parting out the 83...)

My 81 came with european electric mirrors. Later I put on american ones.

Depending on the SN/ production date of your SA, it may have a big HOLE in the middle of the mirror-mount point on the door (under the mirror) - that's for the wire harness for the mirror to go thru. If you have this hole, then your 80SA is a late enough production number to have the mirror electrics ALREADY WIRED INTO THE _MAIN_ HARNESS - plugs and all (see pic - its 2 unconnected plugs behind the instrument cluster)
BUT: no DOOR harness* - Those you will need to pull from a donor FB to connect the mirrors to the main harness ... then of course, you will need to find the old-skool joy-stick mirror switches unique to the SA.

*obvious exception is the lucky owners of Anniversary "X" 80 RX or the 80 "LS" which come with the power mirrors
