Well mine idles fine and I bought the car recently so I'm not sure what may have been done to that particular hole. The car has no rats nest or any other emissions stuff. I'm tempted to just leave it alone cuz I don't wanna mess with it and then have my car not idle but I also don't want my engine sucking in dirt and debris threw this hole.

Here's an active thread with a problem possibly concerning the richer solenoid.
From what I understand, the solenoid keeps the circuit closed until activated, so with out it there, you have a leak.

It is a vacuum leak, and it will effect idle. Whoever had the carb before had to have compensated for this giant vacuum leak at some point by adjusting the idle accordingly, so if you plug it, your idle will change. You can just hold your finger on (or close to) it while the engine is idling and see what I mean.
You can either plug it and re-adjust the idle (...which is what I suggest), or stuff a piece of gauze, filter paper, screen, whatever in there to filter the air. Eventually that will start to clog up and effect your idle, though.

To be honest I didn't even realize that was who posted that but I was planning on taking his advice anyways. I definitly appreciate and respect his sterlings opinion. I was actually just reading his page on how to tune a nikki yesterday.
Would still love to see pics of the part I'm missing and how it's supposed to be hooked up.

The carb manuals are in PDF form on my links page. They're floating around all over this forum, too. There are exploded illustrations that show all the components.

If you look at the picture of the richer circuit, that DivinDriver posted, in the link I posted, you would need something to push the plunger in to keep it from enriching the mix(richer solenoid). Plugging the hole would just eliminate the vacuum leak. You may be able to rig a plug that also holds the plunger in, if nobody has a solenoid for you.

I'd just shoot some silicone instant gasket through the orifice and leave it overnight to cure. Then cover the hole with a cut-short bolt.

Done as you described the richer circuit will always be active, it will need an idle adjustment to compensate (or probably already has it done). Also makes a louder suction noise.

K will have a richer solenoid on the way soon. It's plugged for now should I unplug it or leave it plugged till it gets here? Also when I get it put in should I plug the electical plug into something or not?
