I think the difference in in "feel" only. Seriously, a shifter is a shifter...... what makes a good one vs a bad one, one that is notchy, hard to shift accurately is typically labeled as bad. Shifters that have too much play in them aren't good either. Short throw is supposed to help shift faster, but I doubt it does much in this regard because the main contributer to shift time is still intact (namely you, the driver). But if you like the feel, either short shifter may be right for you.

Every time this argument comes up the lecture I had in my high school Physics class on vectors pops back into my head. Am I the only who payed attention in that damn class? Somebody please explain HOW there can be a differance between the two "type" of short shiffters.
