well it "could" be the trans mount but my geuss if it wobbles alot when its in gear, is the shifter bushings. put it in gear and move the shifter around and up and down. if there is a signifigant about of play its the shifter bushings. there are lik 3 of them making a cup around the ball part of the shifter. my experience most old or orginal rx7s have this problem and about 20-30$ you can make it pretty tight feeling again.

Are these bushings easy to replace? I have a feeling they are.

How about a quick guide to doing it.

Thanks.

lol a quick guide ok..
take off shift boot.
take out 3- 10mm bolts
carefully pull out shifter and dont break retaing clip.
take flathead screwdriver and pop up lower bushing.

now top one can be a biatch, undo the shift **** and retaing thingy.
then slide on top bushing and metal ring.

put back together and wala!
