which sensor is which?

since i'm a visual learner, and none of my manuals have a good structural diagram of this part, i'll ask here:

where is the temp gauge sensor, and what exactly does it measure? i've been told it measures coolant temp, but as far as i can tell it's in the oil pan. is it in the oil pan but close to the coolant passages to pick up the coolant temp that way? what gives?

anyhoo, here is my picture

neither my oil pressure gauge or temp gauge work right -- oil pressure doesn't read anything and the temp sensor pegs on H.

i wouldn't mind limping my car home to work on rather than having to drive across town to do anything to it, but if i'm not getting oil pressure, i'd rather not. is there a way to check for oil pressure without this gauge? is there a simple way to install an aftermarket oil pressure gauge?

the single-lead is for the oil-level sensor warning light.

In your diagram, the lead on the left is the oil level sender, the one on the right is for the sub-zero start assist.

I'm a little late, and I know this probably won't help, but take a look at this.
