Who said you cant re-use the header gasket. Slightly clean it and apply some copper silicone on it...

Bolts? Aren't they nuts? Are you talking about the four nuts that hold the header on? Or the hardware down at the flange under the car?

Hmm, could you tighten the difficult one first? You know, so you don't have to try to get to it after the others are tight?

Sounds to me like the threads on your exhaust stud or else the nut are mangled. My guess is that you may have bumped one of your exhaust studs with something while working underneath the hood, thus screwing up the threads. Another guess is that the threads on the nut you are trying to start are no good. You may be able to fix the exhaust stud by running a die over it to straighten the threads? Or if its the nut, buy a new one? These are just guesses....

its actuaully the bolt with the nut screwed on it? But I guess I can try that...

Another thing....How can I take my pilot bearing out...is it easier to take the flywheel out? or use he specialty tool....I've heard both stories, but can't see which on is easier

The pilot bearing is not in the flywheel. It is actually pressed into the end of your eccentric shaft. Taking off the flywheel will not make the pilot bearing come with it. My best experience with the pilot bearings is to get the puller from Autozone, that you can rent for free with a deposit.

The autozone puller is just a little tiny bit too big. So take a grinder and just barely shave down the sides of the autozone puller. After that it should come out pretty easily. Just make sure you put a couple of drops of black paint on the tool before you return it. It won't hurt the puller any, but you never know if the guys at autzone would freak out or not when they see you ground down their tools...

Edit: When you say "the bolt with the nut screwed on it" that doesn't tell us much. Do you mean the four studs where the header mates to the engine? Or the two bolts underneath the car where the flange at the end of the header mates up to your center exhaust pipe?

talking about where the flange bolts on to the motor itself....I bought the car with the header on it, and im not for sure of what they are supposed to look like....they being the niuts, or bolts.....and have only seen header's on rx7's.....so....

guess this makes my 100th post...lol
