Think about it - you are putting a VISABLE amount of crud through the system...so, just like with your other filters, the faster the crud goes through, the faster it craps out. Also, do use leaded gas or pour Seamfoam or ATF down the carb unless you have a heated O2 sensor...even then dont expect even the O2 sensor to last.

I did notice that my exaust overheat light came on and stayed on for awhile even after I just started it after I used the seafom, seems to be back to normal though. Well normal or not functioning anymore.

You guys think it's okay for the car to put 2 cans of seafoam in a full tank of gas? Will it mess anything up because it is an overdose in chemicals? Or is it just a waste because it is an overkill? I don't really care if it is an overkill, since I have so many laying around, I just want to make sure my injectors are going to be clean. I was thinking of putting the "in" fuel line in the can and starting the car, running off of just seafoam, then afterwards attaching it back to the gas tank. Couple of friends of mine have done this, causing a huge black cloud behind them, but they claim it runs a whole lot better than just in the tank. But that might be my last resort since I don't want to have a huge cloud of carbon hanging around my neighborhood. They'd probably hate me even more.

Depends on how much gasoline you have in your tank. Read the back of the can as it states the proper ratio of Seafoam to fuel

i've run 2 cans of seafoam in 4 gallons of gas in repu.

the exhaust sure stank, smoked more and gave headache but it sure did run better. after fillup the tailpipe went back to normal.

i say do it. and if you have that much seafoam just keep running a can at fillup until it don't run any better.

I would run it at maybe just 2x what the Seafoam recommends but then for sure run it through engine via vacuum line, that will make the biggest difference in cleaning carbon. Also put some in the engine oil a couple hundred miles before you're do for a change.

I wouldn't advise running it in the oil. If you clean all of the "junk" off your oil control rings then you'll end up smoking...

You would honestly smoke more through the brake booster hose! I usually add one third on the brake booster hose, turn off the car, put another third in the oil, and last third on the gas tank with only an eighth, and just let it sit for 10-20 whatever your time prefference is. Complete process 2-3 times with an oil change after each one. well Ive been doing a little bit of R&D on it, I find out it's best used by the third. This process is good because its not harsh on the car and the risk of anything going wrong is kept minimal. Hope you guys try it for a bit, and the improvements of performance will come overtime. Patience, dammit! hahahaaa just my .02.

I think he meant the car would end up smoking more all the time because oil would blow by the seals more. I'd like to see more information on that, I can in theory see how that might be true, but I also think if the seals are shot, they're shot regardless of what goes through the engine oil.

You change the oil after every cleaning through the a vacuum line? That's really overkill, because most of the crap is blown out the exhaust and very little none of it makes contact with the engine oil.

I do it to stay on the safe side. Like I said i did the research and this is what works best for me, plus their is A LOT of loosened particles and debri that stays in the oil, therefore that why I do the oil change, plus i can do that.....heheehe

everybody is entitled to do it any which way they want, even though this is going to be a SERIOUSLY ongoing question, of what is the best to do it with and how to go around doing it!

When I put it right down the carb at first it blew out black smoke pretty stinky foul stuff. I just kept spraying it down the carb finally the smoke turned white. I quit spraying and let it run for a bit longer.

ALOT MORE POWER thats for sure.

I dont know about all this adding it to vacum lines and such and I was really hesitant to add it to my gas tank because I know there is alot of crap in the tank that would get freed up if I added it to that.

And it seems to me that since its a solvent, adding it to oil or anywhere were it would come in contact with rubber might be a bad idea.
