SE Gas Tank

I just put an SE gas tank in my GS. Didn't realize until it was all bolted up and that the connection for the sending unit is different. What usually is done to correct this? Swap the sending unit in from the old tank or put on a different female connector that will accept the one from the SE unit?

Thanks

Three wires in a late model fuel sending unit plug. Plug is shaped like two eyes and a mouth. Black is Ground in the mouth position. Yellow goes direct to fuel gauge in the left eye position. Yellow/Blue is the warning light that your car doesn't have in the right eye position. These positions are in the plug, so the "eyes" are opposite side on the sending unit plug. Leave the Yellow/ blue wire unused and connect the other two to your plug.
