Sayin' Hi.

Sayin' Hi.
I'd just like to introduce myself - a very excited first time 7 owner.
I just picked up a decent little SA, and boy do I love it. It's got a rebuilt 12A with about 40K on it and it runs strong. (Oil pan leaking a little, though)
I've always wanted a rotary ever since I read about them many years ago. That Wankel fella was on to something, so damn elegant!
Well, now I finally have one! I haven't formulated a plan as to what I'm going to do to it yet, obviously a TII motor is in the (distant) future, but I do know that I'm going to be completely redoing the brakes and suspension to start off with. (And probably asking for help with that now and again.)
I'd also like to say thanks to all of you, this forum has already saved me; on my first real drive in the 7, the main fusible link went out ! Luckily I found the thread about the big fuses that can drop right in to replace them, and all was well.
Anyways, I just wanted to say hi. I promise I'll search before I post !

Welcom, thrash i hope to start an FB turbo swap soon, looking for a good shell at the moment. I live in Grant Park if you a close i would be happy to give you a hand and get some hands on time during your brake an suspension mods. I think some Seven owners meet at the Varsity on occasion as well. Congradulations on the new ride.

By the way, know any local yards with 7s? I've got a rear end to swap!

Thrash, Pull apart on Morland has 3 1st gens. right now. I dont remember seeing a rear end on any of them though. They have another location some where close. Post in the local forum about needing one and see what comes up.
I lived in Kennesaw years ago, what is your age and what High School did you attend. Sometimes the world is smaller than we think. 33/ McEachern /1992. Great to have you here.

Driftwood: I'll give Pull Apart a call, thanks. (I just moved from right off Moreland, didn't know it was there?!)
I actually spent the later years of my youth in May-retta, and went to Osborne. Had I stayed in school, I would've been class of '01.
Once I get her (she has yet to be named....) rolling better I'll definitely come down to the Varsity whenever the other fanatical rotary driving people do and pull an "Uncle Buck".
Thanks everyone!
