good time to get SS brake lines.

My friend brought over this kid I didnt know, and later wanted to show him my car.

I went inside to grab some dews. when I came back the kid was ancy to leave.

I found out he pulled like 4 vacumme lines off and the fuel return line. my carb was spilling fuel like crazy and I had a large engine fire. no damage because my whole engine is covered in this thick *** rust proofing **** and I keep a fire extingisher in the car. (ricer accessory my ***)

needless to say I kicked that pucks ***, as did my friend. He said I didnt deserve the car!!

you could probably sue that guy for a huge amount.
cha ching, more mods.

LOL...that was a perfect double take.

I'm actually thinking about SS brake lines, but wasn't quite sure if I should or not. I don't seem to have a problem getting the car to a stop now, and don't know what the difference is.

You should have known something was up, when you
arrive home and 2 people are sitting and " waiting" .
and you know one of them,,never should have turned
your back to'em..Before going into the house,,i would have asked " whats up " "what are you doing here " ??
If they have no business being around,, somethings up.
time to get tough.. you know thats premedatated ??
the PD should realize that.. you know ,,it's things like that ,,.that ruin my faith in people. good job,,on saving your *** ..

Holy cow Manntis, that's a real blower. If he confesses, you should request that he pay for your brake lines and the 50 in court, too.

sucks to hear that sort of thing ...
but all i've got to say is watch your back with this fool. if he's asinine enough to do that over 40 bucks that never belonged to him, now that he's caught (and may be nuts enough to even blame you) ... there's no telling where his warped mind will take him next. so definitely d-up and pack something for his *** ...

Have the mechanics verify in writing that it's been cut, and save the part. I dunno if it's too late to get pictures.
Get a restraining order (...or the Canadian equivilant) - this guy is either really stupid, or really luney.

In either case, I think he's really dangerous.

Angry Mein Got!

If I actually knew that someone attempted to murder me like that, especially when that could have affected my family or anyone else on the road, I'd be looking for some serious payback! Hey, I believe in Karma and W.W.J.D and all that, but I'd be damned if I let someone endanger my family like that and all that flies out the window.

Once when I still owned a VW Bug 12 or so years ago, some ******** decided to kype my carbie, and left the fuel line pointing down the intake manifold. I went out in the morning to start it and POOF! flames everywhere. Luckily I had a garden hose nearby. I always started keeping a fire extinguisher in the car after that.....

Once some a-hole of an ex for my wife put sugar in her oil and gas tank. The subsequent repairs totaled the car and put her in a huge financial bind. I hunted him down like a dog and put such a huge beating on him I bet he still feels it.

But that wasn't attempted murder. All I can say is that thank god I live in the U.S., where a man is still entitled to defend his life by whatever means, including firearms.

I guess that is also a good case for pre-operational safety checks.

Anyone know how to adjust the ebrake? I can pull mine all the way up, but it just barely slows me down. I just put new pads back there like 5 weeks ago (new ones up front 2 weeks ago), so I know its not that. Plus if I slam on my brakes I can lock up my back brakes and have the fronts stay stuck to the road (back tires are REALLY bald). So, wheres the adjustment?

typically there's tensioners in the cables under the car - you just screw 'em tighter to take up slack that occurs over time.

In addition, if you ever need to replace sections of e-brake cable, it's often far cheaper to get a custom piece of cable cut and have ends crimped on it than to buy a factory part. I did this for my first car, a Chrysler Laser, for $15 versus $125 or so (going from foggy memory) for the Chryco part.
