SA FB hood latch differences?

Just bought this CF hood and I couldn't get the latch to fit in the hole for the hood latch. I physicallt took teh entire latch mechinism off teh car and held it up to the hood. It's to large to fit in the space allowed for the latch?

The hood has been bolted on before to another car and had no issues. Is this not an FB hood latch possibly? I bought it off Ebay. The holes seem to line up fine?

Thanks!

I think someone fibbed to you on it being used on another car. Grind down the latch so it fits in
the mechanism.

I mis-spoke. The seller contacted me and it has never been on a car. I had assumed it was because it looked like it had road grime all over it on the bottom side.

Can’t grind down the latch enough to fit. It’s the opening around the little bar that slides into the latch on the hood. Nothing I can do but trim the fiberglass hole around that area so the latch assy will fit up inside it. I was hoping to avoid cutting on my "new" hood! Would have thought Fibremaz did a better job...

Ah well…

Thanks all.

What about installing washer s or a fabbed spacer behind the latch on the hood? That should give you the clearance you need without cutting...

If it was forward to aft clearance issues you'd be correct. It's the sides that are to narrow.

thanks though!

It's a worker... Just needed a little trimming. ALso put a lighter spring in the latch mechinism.

Just need to find some street legal tires and I can go try to tag this thing.

Annoying is what it is.

Old owner had the 1 gallon fuel cell mounted under that door. I would have removed it but I was hoping to put my meth inj tank there. Intercooler took up all the extra room however so it’s just an eye sore.

C'mon man give me some credit...

Look closely at the bumper. I fabbed up headlights and signals. Even have high and low beams... And I installed tinted lexan behind the bumper on them so you can't see them in the daylight really. Brake/tail lights and signals in the back as well.
