Question Which RX7 Should I Buy?

I have the option of buying 3 different RX7's. 2 1983's with no rust, and both have 85,000 miles. Engines are in perfect condition. Or I can get a 1984 with all the upgraded things, but its starting to get a little rust and has a few dents. Which one do you think I should get? (All the same price).

Thanks,
Matt

your choice

If you can see rust, the car proably has twice as much rust you can't see...watch out when you have rust....I would lean toward the non rusty car...if you really want the one with all the goodies, then I would wait cause another one will come you way again...PATIENCE my friend, PATIENCE....good luck........................cjf................... ...................

yes stay away from ol rusty, especially since you are up in the northern climate. in the long run its just going to be better and your car will be so much nicer in the future. also you can never completely remove rust!

I gotta gree with everyone else. Rust is just plain BAD. Although I gotta say I'ma big fan of the 84-85's.

I wouldn't worry to much about the options, as they are fairly easy to add-on later.

If you're like me and you really have a stong preference to the 84-85 models, then wait for another car. If you have no prefrence, thenget the 83.

Just do what I would do buy all three! Can't have too much of a good thing! http://my7.rx-7.org/Paul/images/Paul-PartsYard2.jpg Anyway If the rear wheels wells are shot stay with the 83' If they are good just fix the rust. (If possible).

hey paul, nice garden. I wish i had enough space to keep the cars that have come my way or had a chance of getting. its really a shame what ive thrown away or let go for lack of space.
Now, i know who to contact if I need something. By the way, is the red one a GSLSE?

Ohh yes, I believe there was a question asked.
Id have to agree with everyone else. rust is gonna cost you more in the long, maybe even short, run. And probably more than to just modify one of the other ones.

Rust Stuff

Well the 84 doesn't have too bad of a rust prob. The wheel wells look fine. Its just around the door edges. The other too have absolutly none at all. I checked them over good. And one of the 83's has a fresh rebuild of the engine. I also found an 87 in perfect condition too, but its a little more. The 83's and the 84 are $900, and the '87 is $1200.

Thanks
