RX7 Performance Modification Handbook

Hey guys, I have a RX-7 performance handbook up for sale on e-bay. It is a great reference for anyone wanting to get more power/speed out of their car. It covers all three generations and includes chapters on suspension, exhaust, engine swaps, NOS, brakes, wheels & tires, ignition curves, turbocharging, street tuning on a budget, and a brief guide to racing your RX7. Hurry the auction ends soon. Check it out:

I have that book, I thought it is more directed towards the later model 7's. It has some good points on tires and suspensions, but nothing directly focused towards setting up our cars. I find the forum way more informative.

If you are looking for a book for general reading it is a good purchase (though I haven't checked out the auction and have no idea what they are asking, I am speaking generally about the book). If you are looking to learn about your car and how to tune it, I would keep looking. I think the author is trying to cover to much stuff in to small of a book.

Just my $.02

Thumbs up

Keep an eye out for "How to Modify Your RX-7" by Jim Downing and dave Emanual. It's out of print, but used copies pop up every so often. Nice overview of the modification process, though some of the recommendations are slightly dated.

Mike's book is pretty nice, but as a previous poster said, there are a ton of errors.

I have the Jim Downing book. It was published by HPBooks. I was lucky enough to win it off of eBay for the low, low price of $40 with shipping and it originally cost $19.95. I've been told by a few people here that was a good price for it Along with the forum, I think it is a much needed reference for FBs and modifying them. Of course some of the stuff talked about that they did, you'd need access to a machine shop such as taking out material on the rotors and off of the eccentric shaft to lighten everything up
