Running lean and cant figure out why

I'm trying to finish up my turbo project but I have a problem with running super lean (20 afr) when I step on the gas pedal any harder than gentle. Car goes super lean bogs and backfires.

I took a step backwards and disconnected the turbo charge pipe from my carb hat and tried hard acceleration but I get the same symptoms. My FPG reads 7 PSI consistant (I tried down to 4 and up to 9).

What's confusing is I ran 1500 miles NA for a break-in with the same carb, fuel pump (GSL-SE), and regulator and it ran great... the only difference now is that I have the S4 bolted on but the charge pipes not connected. ooooh and im running 92 octane and my dizzy is locked...

P.S. Ben I still didnt tap the hat because now I'm back to NA and its doing the same thing.

Just found that bad timing caused the bog. Cheapo timing light must have been picking up signal off trailing.

Na not yet too dangerous to play yet. Still leaning out. Gonna tap the hat as the boost source for the regulator. I think my carb may have gotten some junk in it during assembly and my floats may not be where they need to be. Its a matter of figuring why fuel delivery is not working because I am running the right jets. And pressure Doing the mothers day thing now.

you also need to be aware when you are running super rich and if the o2 sensor gets drenched in gas it will read lean as a false reading. i would make a small na run kill the car and pull the o2 sensor and see if its wet!

OK I tapped the hat and ran the boost reference from there and the same symptoms. When I mash the gas the wideband goes super lean and it still does bog (thought i fixed this last night by the timing). I tested the regulator by blowing into the boost reference line with the compresor and it increased the fuel pressure like clockwork upwaqrds of 10psi.

When I take it up in rpms slowly it starts to break up and runs lean on the wideband, when I mash it it pegs to 20afr and bogs...

I have 240 fuel jets and 180 air jets as recommended by Robert...

My boost guage never gets over zero. It sits 20-30 vacume and when I hit the gas it looks like its going to go past zero and get positive manifold pressure but then breaks up while leaning out.

If I sustain 4-5000 rpms while driveing it still does not register positive manifold pressure (boost) should it or do I need to be able to mash the gas to see boost?

Is the fact that the boost guage starts to go towards positive manifold pressure mean that the engine is seeing boost?

Bottom line... I never rode in or drove any turbo car so this is all new to me but it will help me if I could get these answered.

don't forget that it could show lean cause the o2 sensor is covered in gas. But i don't know what else it could be. Make sure your dizzy is at 10l btdc with a 10 split. and dude it is possible you're spark is getting blown out. What do you plugs look like post pics of those. are they white dark are they covered in fuel? Has the carb been rebuilt?

My knowledge of 2bbls is very limited so i think i have done about all i can do.
