Hey Guys,
Well, this morning my mum and I went to the DMV (or whateverthehell they call it here), and signed the 7's ownership over to me officially!
For those of you who don't know the story, here's the short version:
- Mum buys car many years ago, second owner, car always summer driven by previous owners.
- Mum drives car in summer, tarps in winter until a few years ago when she tarped it for the winter and left it there for FIVE YEARS
- Car sits in one spot for five years of neglect. Mum believes that when I graduate university eight years or more after she parked it, she'd be able to get it a "tune up" and give it to me as a gift
- Three years ago from now I convinced my mum that her idea wouldn't work. I also got her to agree that if I fixed the car up myself, did as much of the work myself as I could, and managed to make it run again, I could have the car
- This year, the car's almost done. $3000 and many hundreds of hours of work and research later, the car will be on the road in May. I have all the parts that I need to finish up, the main expenses left are suspension installation, licencing and insurance.
- This morning I convinced mum to sign over the papers! Roxy is officially mine!
Here are some pictures. They aren't the most recent, but they'll do. Don't worry, when I get her on the road in May I'll take some better pics.
Roxy with the rear end jacked up last year as I was preparing to do work on the rear brakes:
My old air pump and the one that Carl graciously gave me, to be installed this week or next for safety-check reasons:
KYB GR-2 shocks and struts, an e-brake cable, fuel level sender, thermostat, fuel filter and oil filter. To be installed soon
Brake rotor BEFORE brake work:

A little more than 100,000 miles (the readings are in km, this is Canada)
Beautiful interior. The ONLY blemish is on the driver's door. The happy-face ***** are my idea![Wink](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I did all my own brake work. Missing from here are: Master Cylinder, Rear Brake Adjuster, e-brake cable and hard metal line:
I rebuild my own OMP!
Carb before rebuild (I'll post rebuilt one when I get it)
And finally, ME! (a really bad, sunburned picture of me two summers ago.. it's the most recent one I've got)
That's all I've got for now.
I'll do a follow-up post when she hits the road. Hopefully on time for the Ottawa Meet in May

I *completely* forgot to mention:
Today is also the first day this year that the tarp has come off! The ice that was holding the cement cinder blocks and tarp down to the pavement finally melted yesterday, so today she was untarped for the first time.
Engine still turns nicely, since I oiled it up with a few tbsp of 10w30 before I let it set. The battery's dead (no biggie) and the front tire lost some air, but overall she fared quite well. There's surface rust on the rotors which looked so shiney last season, but that'll go away on her first drive.
And for things I don't have pics of above:
- RB spring set which came in after the tarp went on last fall
- Before and After pics of the engine bay.. well I have "before" pics from three years ago, but I haven't finished with the simple green, shop towels and pressure washer yet. When I do I'll take pics of each.
- Various small misc things like the new K&N, the brake master cyl and whatnots.
Tomorrow I'm gonna clean the work area and shed, and find a few small prep things I can do whilst I wait for the chance to get a few small parts (AP belt, AP bolt, spark plugs and wires, bucket to empty the rest of the gas tank etc...)
