Are you sure?. Robert has an extra 12-A block in his shop but it needs to be taken apart. OR was it more like you didnt to wait for him to take it apart. as in Jack-in-the-Box --- you cant have it your way

Yes, I am sure. I was told by Robert the part was ready for pick-up. Want me to show you the e-mail? Then for a week I was chasing him to get the part to no avail, to then by met with "well right now I'm very busy" b.s., like he didn't have 60 seconds to take my money and give me the rotor.

i hardly think that not selling you a part(a $40.00 engine rotor that you never paid for!) because you were inpatent qualifies as getting screwed... .LOL

i hate selfish, stupid people!!!

Robert- if you stated the part was available for pick up and this was not true, then its simple dishonesty. It does not matter whether it is a $4 bolt or $4,000 engine. From the sound of it you let a customer down because it was a cheap part, $40, and you had more profitable business elsewhere.

Obtaining the part could have been crucial for the timetable of getting a car back on the road.

Impatience! Yes justified when faced with poor service and apparent dishonesty.

From experience in my own profession I know its difficult to turn down business, but unless you do your reputation goes down no matter how good the work you actually do is.

Exactly. I will repeat my post from the other thread here Robert. And btw, I hate stupid, selfish people too, what a coincidence!

"There's no doubt in my mind that Robert is a hard working and very able guy. No question about the fact that he get backlogged by a demand of service greater than he can satisfy. But all he has to do is warn customers of the situation. Then the customer can decide whether he wants to wait in exchange for a good price and product, or if he wants to pay more but have faster service from someone else. Specifically in my case, I needed a 12A rear rotor. I e-mailed Robert asking him if he had one. He said yes, gave me a price. I asked him if it was ready for pick-up. He said yes. Then I spend the next week or so chasing him around (my office is 20 mins away from his shop), calling him, e-mailing him to get the rotor picked up. Finally Robert told me he was really busy, had other customers before me, and if I needed to find the part somewhere else, to go for it. Even though it doesn't make sense that "he didn't have time" to give me a part that was supposedly ready for pick-up, if he would have said from the beginning, yes I have the part but I don't know when I'm gonna be able to give it to you because I'm very busy, or something like that, I would have had the chance of choosing whether or not to wait. In my case I wouldn't have waited. But all the above nonsense delayed getting a rotor, from someone else, for a week. Then, my engine builder, who had that week lined up to get my engine assembled, became unavailable for a week. So two weeks delayed.

The lack of honesty and straightforwardness shown above by Robert is enough for me to not to want to do business with him ever again."

i dont know if u have been to robert's shop, but hes swamped with things that people have payed for, im sure he wanted to help you get an inexpensive quality, part(he showed me the engine, and told me what somebody, you id assume, wanted him to do). then as you look to the left you see all the porting projects and carb projects and all this crap he hast to do and ship everywhere...there is only so much he can accomplish in a day. the wait is worth it, especially if you only live 20 minutes away because that assures you the convenience if you need advice with it or something. for me, i have to drive from anaheim to get that help...and im going to go again to do a few mods up there, all in all its worth the wait

Right. If what you say is true, then that makes the statement that the part is ready for pick-up a lie. If he would have said yes I have the part, is inside an engine I have to tear down and not sure when I'm gonna be able to get to it, rather than say the part is ready for pick up, then there would be no issue. That's my point.

Lets end this thread, we should all get along.

The initial post was too much like a free plug, the work was nothing out of the ordinary. If we all reported each bit of work completed on our car the forum would be flooded with trivia so important requests for advice, and giving information would be submerged.

Where there is any need to comment for and against anyone it should be said on the right forum- the good guy/bad guy.
