Rotary Shack Muffler?

I might get to test fire it today, depending on the weather. Gotta finish some welds and build a couple of hangers.
A lobster tip, from my understanding, is a lesser quality solution (cheaper) than a mandrel bent dumpy, where someone cuts a straight pipe into several short pieces at a 5° or 10° angle and welds them all together thus giving the look of a lobster's tail. Looks cheap, in my opinion, like someone couldn't spring for a mandrel bend, you know?

Hey everyone! For those of you that are wondering, as someone put it precisely before, this is a Racing Beat universal muffler with a custom flange and hangers to fit your 79-80, 81-83, 81-85 etc. with a stainless steel dumpy tip welded to it. RS is are currently getting the hangers completed and will be included with purchase, the price will not change.
RS is providing this product to people as an option of a completed unit to save the hassle that many don't and won't go through. Please see the eBay store in terms of sales for Rotary Shack. If you look, you'll see it currently has a 100% Good feedback from new and existing customers. All shipments have gone out within the promised times and they've gone above and beyond for each transaction from start to finish to make sure the customer was satisfied. It's up to you to make the choice in the end - buy or not to buy from the RS store, no one else should decide for you.
If you have any further questions feel free to PM or email me : kerebrus@live.com , thanks!

Now it's making sense. You should have mentioned the hangers etc in the ad. Would have gone over a lot better on this hateful forum. Who'd pay $168 for a dump tip and a quick weld job? See what I mean? Good luck with sales.

The hangers weren't there when RS originally posted that item for sale, but they are now, so it is being edited. Thanks for your positive feedback Jeff

I look forward to seeing the pics of the updated muffler. Reason is I'm just completing my RB universal muffler install, with hangers etc and I'm kinda curious how you guys did yours. I ended up using some hangers cut off of an RB powerpulse muffler that went into a custom install and didn't need them, so they're left overs and just about perfect.
I'm still debating on what style tip to use. Mini dumpy or full 45° dumpy, lobster tip, reducer tip (because it's 3" on a 2 rotor, so maybe kinda big?), resonated tip etc. Gotta fire it up and listen first.

Thanks for clearing all of this up Kerebrus. I really do want to see Rotary Shack do well.
We need all of the parts we can get for these babies, so the more reputable vendors, the better.

I went with the 45° dumpy. Glad I did. It it actually worked! The nearly deafening bassfulness when you're right up next to it is now reduced to a comfortable level. I stepped away from it and had someone else rev it. It sounded like a slightly louder version of Racing Beat's dual pipe streetport system. At 3" NA, that's really impressive.
In all I'm very pleased with how it sounds. I think I can finally drive this thing and not hate the exhaust. It used to sound sharp, ratty and unpleasant... not to mention loud (and that was a 2" system with an RB presilencer and a Borla! Three things you'd expect to quiet things down. Nope.)
Wow, the dumpy worked to hack off that last little remaining dB that mufflers alone couldn't. What a concept!
So if someone wants to get this RS modded muffler with hangers, a flange and a dumpy already added, I say go for it. These mufflers really are that good, and are made even better with these additions!

Yeah, Jeff's setup sounds really nice. A tad on the loud side, perhaps, but quite manageable. I was surprised the dumpy made as much difference as it did.
MaX PoWeR: It's interesting to listen to that vid because I very nearly went with the exact same setup for my turbo FB. In the end I decided to go with a Magnaflow 5x8" oval rather than the RB muffler. I'm happy with how it turned out. I'm VERY glad to have the RB presilencer, it makes the tone really nice.

Percent, you haven't heard it since I added the fully welded 45° dumpy. It killed that last little bit of harsh loudness that it had when you rev it. You can also get right down next to it at idle and the ear splitting noise is now comfortable. It's even further reduced when you shove a reducer inside the dumpy, but I don't think it's necessary anymore. Gotta test drive of course to find out.
