Rotary Rebuilder in Washington State?

Rotary Rebuilder in Washington State?
Can anyone recommend someone in Washington state who can rebuild a rotary engine?
I have an '82 RX7 GSL that I was trying to sell. I just found out that it needs a new engine. Also, what would be a fair price to ask if I have the engine rebuilt? The body and interior are in very good condition. The current engine has 96k miles on it.
Or, if I decide to sell it as is, advertised as needing an engine, what would be a reasonable asking price?
Thanks in advance,
Connie

i definately woudl NOT reccomend rebuilding it before selling it.
You would MAYBE get the value of the rebuild back from the total sale.
How good of condition is the car in? I would say $1000 to $1500 for a really good condition, w/o a good engine.
Hope this helps!

You'll never get your money out of it if you where to rebuild a motor.
But, as far as motor builders go....I don't know anyone that I'd trust. But if your willing to go to Oregon, Rob@Pineapple Racing is one of the best for shure. CJ

Atkins Rotary does rebuilds. They are in Tacoma WA. If you are willing to take the time and do it yourself you could save some money. I just rebuilt mine about 2 months ago and the total cost was about $1000. Depending on how bad it is blown it may be cheaper or it may be more.

If you did the rebuild yourself, and the engine didn't have any major parts that need replacing just seals, you;d probably be able to do it for about $1k, and would be to sell the car for more than a 1k, probably 1.5k. That being said, it depends largely on chassis milage, and body condition.
To sell as is, you could probably only expect around $300-$500, but in general you'd get more money net by just selling it as is, but your much more likely to see it in a bone-yard..... so it really depends on how much the car means to you.

1st gen cars are'nt worth to much. (Hate to say it guys).
Case in point- I bought a 81 GSL, with a ported 12a. Custom dual exaust, body kit, 15" gold enkies (some curb marks, but not bad.), it was lowered, and needed two front fenders, and a pair of seats. Motor was also on its way out, as it had a cracked apex seal. I paid $250 for it. No kidding. The car has sat for around a year, before me making an offer on it.
Awhile ago, there was a guy who lived a couple miles away from me. He had a 79 with a ported 4 port, 13B in it. Exaust, some 15 black enkies, etc. He ended up selling it for $400. It was realy a nice car, and needed some TLC....but thats, that I guess. CJ
