What is maximum?? I see close to 30 inHg when I let off the gas above 6000 rpm. Is that the ansewer you were looking for??

Vacume is typically measure in inches of mecurey (inHg). It leymans terms it is how far up a tube (i forgot the diameter) mercury will be pulled at room temperature, if a vacume is introduce at the other side. Make sense??

At idle a good condition rotory engine will produce 18-19 inHg vacume. Excelent condition will be 19-20inHg.

Yeah vacuum is the negative side of the spectrum. psi is the positive. At redline, Im getting into the HIGH 17 psi positive amount LOL

Positive is a good thing, hard on tires tho

what does fluctuating readings mean. I can only pull14 inHg. and that fluctuates from 12 to 14. The engine is hard starting and floods easy. I am thinking my compression went "poot" Based on vaccum alone, what should I look for?

More than likely a vacuum leak. Check vacuum lines, manifold gaskets, etc
