how will shipping be handled?

boiler81 03-07-06 09:08 PM

rotrmotr ,
Can you ask if other finishes are available (e.g. polished lip & center, or polished lip and hyper silver center), if a minimum number orders it?

Tranquil 03-07-06 09:10 PM

Eh I'm out.

I just got my Almex YSD's in the mail today and after restoring them that's all I'm going to want until I get more money.

Could not get hold of him today- had to work late- again- but will call early tomorrow & ask him about color choices & polishing also about placing the orders- will keep you guys posted.

Nice wheels Tranquil- good luck!

EL5Letra 03-07-06 11:58 PM

uhm..why dont they make some serious deep dish wheels..something along the lines of what le-man cars use ..you know use those wheels to come up with a new wheel but smaller and still that deep look..i dunno my .02 cents and 7.5 isn't wide enough to me..make them 8 . 15x8...LOL

smurfy RX3 03-08-06 01:39 PM

I'm definately still interested as long as I can get the offset to work with my RX3. Like EL5Letra said I thing the GT3's would look nice with some lip. If we can do diffwerent combos I'd take the GT3 with a white center and a polished lip. Keep us updated.

rbf41182gt 03-08-06 08:26 PM

now we just need to get together a list of all the people who are DEFINETLY in, and set a date or whatever

ApG Spaz 03-08-06 09:17 PM

from reading the thread.. the only people who seem to truly be going through with it are...

GT3:
1) rbf41182gt
2) boog
3) Rotary7s
4) smurfy RX3
5) rotrmotr
6) Lt. Dan

if a 7th drops the price id consider it, but i have college coming up :(

Lt. Dan 03-08-06 10:18 PM

Ah... you see? this is what pisses me off.... 66 votes, and only SIX people serious about this....

Dan

aussiesmg 03-08-06 10:25 PM

Actually that is 6 for the GT3, several of us are interested in a 5 spoke style also. Someone needs to pick one 5 spoke and get the numbers, at the moment theres a lot of guys swinging around 4 styles.

Don't completely count me out yet. If I can scrape together the cash I'm in on the GT-3s.

aussiesmg 03-09-06 12:25 AM

Can the 5 spoke guys settle on one rim, the "Flight" is cheap at $400, it is simple and clean looking at 15 x 6.5.

Can we get 5 guys who agree on this rim. Suggest a +10 offset, this will bring the outside of the rim closer to the edge of the body without rubbing by my calculations. Anybody got more info?

Started a thread for these only at https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...77

boog 03-09-06 01:16 AM

if no group comes in for the track-r im in for the gt-3 for sure, count me in no matter what!!!

justint5387 03-09-06 02:08 AM

I would consider getting a set too, but i need to know what color they are going to be in. Also, doesn't ROTA makes a panasport replica?

Rotary7s 03-09-06 03:54 AM

Im still here,I read this every day to check on updates.

Im still towards the GT3 since they dont have 17,16 will be fine.
.............
MODEL NAME: GT-3

COLORS AVAILABLE:

Royal Red, Royal White, Royal Carbon Fiber, Royal Gun Metallic

....

I dont see "Black" listed, would that be royal carbon fiber,or can they do it in diffrent colors.

1)If more people go,will the price drop from $450. to maybe $400?Just wondering etc etc

2)Please find out the offset, that will matter the most.Getting the wheels drilled to a 40+ offset wont do much.

3)Shipping as one stated.I think its about another $100-$150.

If this deal doesnt hold up,or starts to look bad.I will go back with my other plans and get these 17s i want, and get adaptors for the staggered look.

Just to let you guys know,I can get ET tuner lug nuts, with screw in studs combo deals..

I dont know if its a good price,But I had to pick some up yesterday.I paid about $40.

I will post pics later.

boog 03-09-06 10:15 AM

i still want these wheels but if we dont get the ball rolling soon i have other wheels lined up that will cost me 500 including shipping....shipping shouldnt be more than like 75 bucks right? 100-150 is more expensive than any quote ive heard from a number of wheels producers/retailers..........lets start a new thread and get down to business!!

Hey Guys! just spoke with Rota today- more good news- first to answer a couple of questions posted before:

Black is available for the wheel centers.

The slipstream & JSPL are the only rims available in full polish!

If people are interested in diferent sizes of the same rim style (3 for 15x7 & 2 for16x7) that is OK!

The wheels ordered through this group buy will definetly have the correct offset as he re-ashured me.

I prefer to give Rota the correct offset for a 7" wide rim for our cars- does anyone know this number (I think its between 15 & 20 mm) If I have to, I will build a dummy wheel out of wood to find the right offset (I have done this before for my Talon)

As for ordering goes- lets agree on a deadline- lets say next weekend? I will need the email addresses of all SERIOUS buyers & the wheel style & size wanted (PM me)- I will then compile a sheet with the total ammounts & call Rota for final prices for each style & find out about shipping prices & lead time for the wheels to arrive & post/email that info to each buyer for final decision.

Let me know if this sounds good to you guys?

I almost forgot- there is ANOTHER wheel available in a 15x7 - its the REV (see pic)

THAT IS NICE!!! that is a +40 offset wheel- now imagine in a +18 offset - that is another full inch of lip!!! (for those guys that love deep dish wheels)

I was just playing around with this site:

http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs...&text1=&text2=

Letme know what you think of the settings that I have? are they close?

rbf41182gt 03-09-06 07:27 PM

mmmmmmmmm

lip :D

justint5387 03-09-06 07:37 PM

That is nice, how much would shipping be... I WANT A SET!!!!!!

boiler81 03-10-06 03:06 PM

Count me in on a set of Fully Polished J.SPL. (15x6.5). The offset would need to be changed from catalog to 18mm or so.

Didn't someone say center caps were available from ROTA? If so, I'd be interested.

aussiesmg 03-10-06 03:24 PM

J.SPL for me also

Rotary7s 03-10-06 04:17 PM

One of my main concern is getting a wheel with lip.

I hate the look of a fwd +40 offset flat wheel.
Have you got anywhere on shipping and pricing?

Are you SURE changign the offset will change the wheel deepness,or maybe they migth just add more to the Hub to the correct needed offset, and not change the depth.

d0 Luck 03-10-06 04:22 PM

i still highly doubt rotas will make RWD friendly offsets in 14-16" sizes.

let me know if they release a wheel somewhere around 0 mm to 20 mm

candyassmiler 03-10-06 06:19 PM

J.SPL for me in black.

sgieldon 03-11-06 12:29 PM

JSPL for Me also in 15x6.5
Steve
Cash In Hand

candyassmiler 03-11-06 05:26 PM

cash ready here, as well.
candyassmiler, sgieldon, lt. dan, aussiesmg, and boiler81. that makes five ready, lets get this done. what are the problems?

rotrmotr 03-11-06 07:35 PM

Hey Guys- for those who are ready to joint the group buy please PM me with your email address, the wheel/size you are interested in & I will make a list to present to Rota.

I want to make shure that I give them the corect offset- I dont think anyone in this forum knows this number or is reluctant to share his prized information- anyway I will make a dummy 15x7 wheel & get the right offset with no rubbing even when turning the steering wheel lock to lock- I will have pics & post the outcome shortly.

rbf41182gt 03-11-06 07:40 PM

i'm pretty sure it's 18mm

EDIT: i checked tire rack and they reccomend +17mm for the 7 inch kosei rims they sell

Generally speaking, this is never done because very few cars have studs that are long enough to accomodate such a difference, not to mention how it could mess up the engineering side of things.

boiler81 03-13-06 02:00 PM

For those who want 17's the D2's are available in the following size and offset:

17 x 7.5 +20/+25/+30/+35/+40/+48 4h/5h x 100/114.3

They could easily be drilled for 4h x 110MM, and the these offset choices would allow the correct fit for the non SE FB's.

I would have requested the D2's if they were available fully polished.

ApG Spaz 03-13-06 02:12 PM

well if we can choose our finish, shouldnt we be able to get what we want with it instead of just the ones offered? isnt that what choose means? i will definately get D-2's if enough people will

smurfy RX3 03-13-06 02:31 PM

It looks like the JSPL might happen I could go for those instead of the GT3's... I guess all I'm really looking for is something, anything, different from what everyone else is running. I gather that most the ppl on this post feel the same way. Anyway, (i know I sound like a broken record) if the JSPL's happen count me- in as long as they'll fit my RX3.

Blue Alert 03-13-06 03:39 PM

I own an RX-4 and am wondering if the GT-3 rims will fit. If not, what are my options?

rbf41182gt 03-13-06 05:05 PM

just throwin' this out there-

what's the reccomended tire size? I don't want my speedo to be off by that much, so the overall wheel/ tire package shouldn't be that much bigger. i was thinking 205- 50- 15 or 215- 40- 15. What are you guys planning on running?

btw- so many new tire choices with 15 inch wheels!! i'm in heaven! :D

d0 Luck 03-13-06 05:28 PM

so what's the soup. i still highly doubt rotas will adhere to the 1st genners requests.

Lt. Dan 03-13-06 06:33 PM

Why are you trying to kill this? If Rota can make an offset that will work, I'm all for it!!!

Dan

rotrmotr 03-13-06 07:59 PM

Hey- I did not get a chance to get in contact with Rota today will get them tomorrow- I have 6 people ready for the JSPL & 2 for the GT3- anyone else on the GT3? I would like to get these (GT3) myself with the black center- I would not mind the JSPL if it were available in a full 7" width- will ask Rota tomorrow about this, the center caps & the offset question that ApG Spaz brought up. I will also ask about fitment for the RX-3 & RX-4 guys.

candyassmiler 03-13-06 09:02 PM

what kind of time frame are we talking about ?

rotrmotr 03-13-06 09:12 PM

I believe we should make the deadline for this weekend & place the order this Monday or Tuesday

boog 03-13-06 09:22 PM

woul rota give us a deal if were part of this group but dont have a ton of people buying one wheel....my vote was in for the gt-3 and if i could still get those at a deal with no one else buying them then i want the grid wheels.......its too bad more people aren't going along with this i thought there would be more.....by the way the reason the grids got my attention is because i saw them on a 240 today at the exhaust shop and they looked so sick....i thought they were just flat but the center is actually sucked in a little...........anyways, it sounds like i a, pretty much out of this deal because i dont want 5 spoke wheels.......waht's going to happen??

boog 03-13-06 10:01 PM

ok, sorry im posting up a storm, "rotormotor" change my vote to fully polished j.spl's, more than anything i just want cheap wheels, im done looking at the stockers. im sorry im tri-polar and taking up so much space with my stupid posts, i need to be less impatient but i have wanted wheels for years. So here is 7 for j.spl and now only one for gt-3, cash ready!!!!

rotrmotr 03-13-06 10:35 PM

no problem- I also wanted the GT3 wheels but the JSPL are not bad looking at all- looks like I will also go for the full polish JSPL wheels- I will talk to Rota to see if we can get them in a full 15x7 & not 6.5" width!

So I believe we are up to 8 for the JSPL- that means a price drop!- will find out tomorrow :) ....maybe then more people will join & the price will drop even more!

smurfy RX3 03-13-06 11:12 PM

I'm with you, 15x7 JSPL's would be great!

boiler81 03-13-06 11:29 PM

Ditto, Fully Polished J.SPL's - 15 x 7 and correct offset(?), I'm in big time.

Rotrmotr please ask ROTA about the availability of center caps. I think black or chrome would look great on J.SPL's.

When will we determined correct offset?
