Way back when I posted about my xmas present being some nice rims...

Well, I had them mounted today and found out that they stick out too much and rub against the fender

I've read about rolling the lips but I don't know if that will help in this case

check out the pix...if this isn't resolved then they'll be on sale soon...

those wheels look really nice on your car. there's nothing wrong with them sticking out a little. try rolling your fenders first. if that doesn't solve it and you really want to keep those wheels you can get smaller tires and stretch them.

Mine stick out every bit as much.
I have the RB springs, with tockicko Illuminas and I have almost zero fender rub.
The only time I get any sort of fender rub is under hard cornering+braking, or when I hit a bump under hard cornering.
I have only had it rub about 5 times in almost 10k miles, numerouse auto'xs, and 1 full track day.
Up grade your suspension and or roll the fender lips.
Those wheels look great on your car, so do what you can to make them work.

Ohh yea, my fender lips arent rolled either.

Seriously though, you should have no problems once you roll those fender lips.

from your previous post, try changing from the 205/60-14 to be a 195/50-14. Although I have 15" rims, I had front tire rub until I took my front tires down from 205s to be 195. Now I have absolutely no rub whatsoever; and I'm using Eibach Pro springs with stock suspension. (Yes, I need some new shocks and struts.)

Those wheels look too sharp on that white car not to keep them.

Bash those fender lips in!!! I suppose there's no way the wheels can go inward any. You aren't using spacers are you? Definitely don't sell them. Only get rid of them if you give them to me for free.

The wrong offset will also mess with the steering axis and wear on wheel bearings. I'd recommend taking the wheels to a machine shop and having the inside of the hub machined down to the correct offset. It would take about 30 minutes on a milling machine. Those wheels are too nice looking to give up!

Wouldn't machining them down messup the stability of the rims themselves? I'm going to try rolling the lips...I'm definately not changing the suspension...i think i have a flat now too so maybe new tires in the new size? btw, i need some centercaps bad...and i need to clean up the rotors...they look terrible

btw, if it is the front driver rubbing then it could be because its crashed...i'll investigate more tomorrow when i have more light

If the hub is thick to begin with, a good shop will make sure to machine it very close to parallel with the rim and you're good to go.

my white car is slammed with 205-50-15 tires and omly rubs when i have fat chicks ride in my car... well i fixed that problem, and no i didnt sell my wheels, i dont let fat chicks ride with me anymore!!!

seroiusly though your wheels are cleeeean!!! roll the lip, and you should only have minor rubbing wich is ok, it just makes a scary sound....

hector why dont you just get some rivet on fender flares and space the wheels out even more

you could prolly squeez a 225 on those rims

you dont need center caps, besides they were ugly big plastic things anyway...

as far as a writeup un rolling your fenders,,,, get a bat and roll along the lip back and forth a few times until the lip is bent up far enough... uhh, yah

ya try every option before maching those tires down...I would recommend going with a lower profile tire...you don't have to go as far as a rubberband tire but definitly something alittle smaller...and change the suspension...should solve that problem instantly...if the lower profile tires don't first!!

I definitely wouldn't do that. Going more than 5 percent more or less than the stock rolling diameter will mess up your speedometer and odometer.

you have a lot of room down there. the problem seems to be your suspension.

i wish i could help you out with the center caps. i hated mine so i didn't use them at all. it actually didn't look bad without them.

Don't just role the fender as somebody suggested good god almighty! take the time to heat the arch with a hair dryer, cover about half of the hair dryers intake so that it gets way hotter, then run it back and forth across the area you are gonna role. when the paint gets to hot to touch, then you can role it with the bat. by heating the paint, you will prevent it from cracking as badly.

i dont see why they would be rubbing with the tire size you described. You said you were using 205 60 R14's which is actually the STOCK tire size for the GSL-SE!!!
