rim polishing

well, ive got me a dremel and some rims, but theyve got some rust. i wanna remove the rust, maybe polish em up a bit too, but i dont know where to start. and yes, i tried searching, but the archive wouldnt even return any results for "rims", so i dunno, could just be me

You'll be polishing for months if you use a dremel. I use a drill, mothers, and a 6 inch polishing wheel.

If the rust is very light, you can use a fine steel wool to remove it, berfore polishing.

The waffle rims came with a satin finish, they were not bright and shiney. You could try a brass wire wheel, chucked in a drill, be gentle. Then hit it with Mothers and one of thier polishing *****.

yeah, ill be here. call my cell beforehand tho. im just tryin to find something to occupy myself with today, heh.

im diggin the finish, just maybe want to polish up the lip,remove the rust, and maybe make the "plus" rims look all pretty

i have a severe brake dust problem with these rims.... nothing will get it all off, and when i finally give up it all comes back with a day of driving...

What's teh diamter of those rims? I think they are 13, but my brother in law says they are 14's?

Sorry to high jak the thread, and i think your problem (dean23) is a pad issue. I think you need to change your pads to a type that does not yeild so much break dust.

i would think so. Ceramic pads don't dust like the others do. What diameter are those rims?

SE rims are 14", all other oems are 13"

83 le's are 14"
i think the 79 le's are 13 but im not positive.
