RHD Savanna GT price evaluation.
Allright, I have had this car for a couple years now and im finally ready to get rid of it. Its a project...
77-78
The good:
40k original miles
original plaid front and rear seats not ripped
no cracks in black dash
original exhaust
original fenders
original fender mount mirrors
nearly new set of black door panels
original savanna rx7 badge
original GT badge
no rust
Original savanna rx7 key, very rare...
have all the interior pieces, in good shape.
The bad:
no engine
US doors
left side front fender needs minor repair from door rubbing it
no hood
missing radio surround plate
no brake calipers
needs paint
missing other small minor parts
never been titled in us, but came over in the early 80's should be grandfathered.
So tell me what you guys think. Like i said im ready to move this thing, just not totally sure how much to expect/ask. This car would be made into a clone of the 24 daytona car, its the right year, RHD etc. could be an ausome project for someone.

I would think the general market value of this car would be fairly low - I am thinking $1000 or so - given its condition and what it is missing. Although pretty rare in this country, you will need to find just the right buyer as most people on these boards are looking for cheap cars they can modify.
I saw a RHD SA this summer that was rough but complete and running, and the price was around $2,500.

I just want to thank you off the bat for posting pics of that.
I fricken love the plaid seats!
Anyways, in current condition I would agree on 1000. Which is double what a normal SA22 would fetch. What I always did was took the total price of one pristine and great, and then subtracted the core parts. If it had everyting I could see it getting 5000, but by everything I ment US title included too.

What is the difference between it's doors and the US doors?
With out a title I would say just the parts value, A good Dash and RHD change over should be good for $400. Fender and mirrors say $200. so $600 as it sits without a title.
Get the title and it could be good for 1k to 1.5K The engine is easy to replace, the only hard to get part would be the Right hand hood Prop Hood. But they can be had.
To bad you are so far away.

The RHD hood prop is easy. Just bend the bottom end of a LHD one 180*. You can put the hood prop on either side of our cars, the holes are punched in the body and hood for both setups. You just need the plastic inserts that snaps in the inner fender.

My prop rod folds up onto the hood of my "new" 79 whereas my 83 folds on to the chassis. The 79 is on the right hand side as well.

Allright, thanks for the good feedback. Yes i know most 1st gen owners are "poor" people and generally not willing to pay it out. I was thinking in the 1500 range, which is more than most of you thought. The reason is for theoriginal seats, RHD exhaust, brake master etc. all the stuff is actually there to make it work and not make it a hack job. Thedoors, theonly difference between jdm and savanna are that the us ones have crash bars and need the mirror holes patched over, otherwise they are the same. Plus as as i said, the car is rust free and only 40k mielson it. Why did it get partly dismantled? it came to the US as a running car labeled on an invoice as "parts" Then the guy drove it and realised driving RHD cars on the streets in the usa suck since you on the wrong side, it then sat in his garage for a long while, during which time, whenever he needed parts for his other sevens in emergencys it would gate raped of the parts. Any ways, like i said, im ready to move it. i understand this isnt the forsale section but if someone wuold give me what i think its worth its gone.

damn, if i had a decent job, i'd be willing to pay that. My car is turning out to be a pretty rusty one, and i'd love to have a RHD shell to swap stuff into. I'm used to driving RHD because i've been working for the post office for the past 6 months, but they're laying me off on the 20th, and i have to pay tuition pretty soon.

Can you prove the Miles? These cars are kind of easy to make as low as you like.
Someone had a Widebody RHD for sale for a bit in LV at 1k. You might seach the for sale section and see if it ever sold.

I dont believe it was the turbo. The miles, well you can see the seats are in good condition, and if they had a ton of miles the cloth is fragile. Also, i have the shipping reciept that it came over in like 1982 or something, so it adds up that it would only have like 40k on it, which is whats on the clock. It was never registered of titles so theirs no way it would have miles racked up on it, i bought it from the older guy who brought it over himslef and hes trust worthy. Any ways ya, gotta get rid of it. Its really meant for a restoration to original i think. I have seen similar very rare keys go on ebay for a couple hundred bucks. Australians are crazy for that stuff.

only on the early 79's though right? The early 79's also had only one side view mirror, I wonder if these two differences are shared on all early 79's, or are there sevens with just one of these qualities?
Anyways, I love the car, it would be a great project, and i hope it goes to somebody who will restore it. I envision green, like all the savannahs you see in the old brochures, that would be so hot, although the interior isn't brown like those ones.

almost rhd fb
i dont know if any fb owners noticed this so i thought it was worth mentioning: the interiors of rhd and lhd fbs are almost alike. i was staring at my dash one day and discovered why my radio looked facing the passenger side so i tried to push it back into place but it didnt budge, opened up the center dash plastic piece and found out the radio was in the right placed bolted on. i took a closer look and the passenger side of the center dash counsel is shorter than the driver side meaning that it is suppose to face the passenger side more (the driver side in japan) and also the a/c ***** and radio ***** are all on the passenger side (driver side in japan) unlike usdm cars that have those on the driver side. the only difference is that the steering colomn, steering wheel, bmc, cmc, gauges, and pedals are on the driver side (passenger side in japan). pretty interesting huh? back in the days when everything was made from where they were created we own true jdm except we drive on the other side.
p.s. i am not 100% sure but i dont think the engine flips 180 degrees i.e. header is on driver side

Well just know that it's not worth 4k like that one guy on e-bay is asking for his 12a trubo rhd Rx7. That guy has been selling it on and off on e-bay for the last year with no sucess. The smart thing to do is to not ask way too much for it if you want to really sell it. However, you should get a good amount for it as I'm pretty sure there's someone out there that would like nothing more than to trip out other drivers on the road by driving a rhd car.
