KY Restoration project (84) - In Progress

Recently I picked up an 84 (for $300). Outside looked ok, except it had a mismatched hood (white hood, black body). The previous owner had hit a deer and hadn't had the hood painted. Not a big deal...

Inside was faded. It had a maroon(ish) interior. The vinyl had faded to the weird greenish color. Still, not a big deal...

Rear wheel wells were rusted through and the guy had stuck a old windbreaker in the passenger side rear to stop water from coming in while driving. Interesting.

The car is making an awful grinding noise when the clutch is engaged so I decided it could sit in the driveway for a while until I get a chance to fix it.

It sat in the driveway for a couple days, and looking out the window at a white hood was kinda annoying, so I decided to paint it.

After finishing painting to hood (spray paint, strip the car and paint the whole thing again later), I went to work on the wheel wells. I thought it would be easier to do so by removing the bins behind the seats, and it is. But when I removed to bins, some of the metal under them was rusted through. Another thing to fix.

After seeing this, I took the seats out and the carpet underneath them. Wow, even worse...

So, here are some pics so far... (taken with a phone)
