Anybody got any info on parts to change the radio on a 79? I would like to really upgrade the setup and thinking of changing the dash face. What parts are out there?

Not aware of any replacement faces, other than the old RE one that is very hard to find. For mounting hardware and wiring, check out Crutchfields. You may need to make your own face, not terribly had with good measuring and patience.
kgray has one of the old RE ones, perhaps he could be persuaded to send you a tracing of it. If not, I will most likely be installing it for him one of these days and could make a copy of it. His is set up with cutouts to add 3 gauges.

radio hole too small for aftermarket units, have to chop up the plastic face plate AND the metal frame behind it! Kind of hard to go back to stock once you have chopped it
I just bought the ipod transmitters for my ipod, upgraded the speakers and left the radio panel stock...
