I like the thread so far...if you need an engine harness, I have one from an 06 RX8 6speed 6port

Plain and simple, if you could have a cherry first gen. and as some one was walking around looking you could pop the hood to a new properly installed Renisis with updated gauges and interior WOW factor alone would be awesome. If money is not the worry I would be all over it. My concept of a 79sa brought into the future would be exactly that. Love to see one done right

Ever since I saw the pics of the first renesis swap, I wanted to do this. Funding is the maon reason I decided not to however that was when the rx8 was new. Now it definately seems more affordable. One option for the speedo may be to run the rx8 braking system with the rx8 gague. I'm sure that a clever fabricator can figure something out, but you would probably be widebody at that point seeing as the wheel diameters and suspension geometry would most likely change quite a bit. Could the stock ecu for the rx8 be run solely for the purpose of the speedo?

I'm eventually going to build a Weber powered renesis.

Now that I see a shortblock can be had for the $2k range, I'm pretty sure I want to go this route. Figure another grand for manifolds and ignition and you're in like Flynn.

Of course mine will be carb'd and using a crank trigger ignition.

the stock ecu is the best choice honestly. you will not get the manifold dynamics to work like stock, and that is where the power comes from.

use a hal tech or a micro tech contact john at goopie performance he modifies 12a front cover for the rx8 motor and then use your current water pump setup

Another idea, what if one were to adapt the Renesis intake to an older 6 port to combine the sophisticated intake with free flowing headers.
Nice thread. I've been thinking about this swap. I really think that the easiest setup would be the renesis engine + ITB + microtech. No inmobilizer issues, no abs, speedo issue
