Removing Flywheel on dead motor

I have a dead 12A motor that I want to remove the flywheel off. I realise that there is a special tool needed to do the job the right way but seeing as I don't need the e-shaft or flywheel is there a way to break or saw it off somehow?

54mm socket and a impact wrench to get the nut off.

Next, get a long round punch that gets narrower on one end. Then wedge it in between the flywheel and engine and pound on it. Note, have the nut on a few threads to avoid the flywheel droping on the ground or your foot.

www.mazdatrix.com sells all the special tools you need to get the flywheel off. Trust me it was easy as hell when you have the right tools.

A 2 and 1/8 socket on a 3 foot breaker bar, then have a screw driver wedged inbetween the engine and the flywheel so it won't spin.... then jump on the bar.

the 2 1/8" will work instead of the metric size.

I made my own flywheel stopper using a 3foot flat(1/2"thick) drilled holes in it for the clutch bolts and used a heavy duty breaker bar 3/4" with a long cheater pipe, and use your body weight and press down on it with some thrust, it should come off. This is my alternate procedure when a a/c isn't avaliable for a impact wrench. But really needs to be out of the car to do it which you stated it was.

If you do a search you'll find much more information on this common subject.
