Not trying to spark another clutch vs e-fan thread, but why waste the money to buy temperature switches and whatnot? If somehow (not saying it will) the temp switch fails, you won't know your fan is not working unless you look at your temp gauge.

If my fan is on at idle, 20mph, 115mph, its all good in my book. Its on.

Yes you are Seriously I'm running my MR2 fans full time and the temp actually goes up slightly on the highway because the fans are actually reducing air flow by being on. I'm going to implement a ghetto thermo switch (aka bad 83 style) to fix this in the near future.

I will say this, my cruising mpg went from 22 to 25 mpg with the efan. I've verified multiple times now. Also theres the butt dyno effect as well.

You know, if our cars were putting down 300 horse to the wheels, I wouldn't really care if my fans were running full time because then I would have power to spare.

But the reality is that these cars do not have large excesses of power, so I like to conserve where I can. Since the cost of the fan controler was under 20 bucks, and has proven itself to work well, I don't really see a point in arguing about it either way. I'll just wave as I blow by on the freeway.

Jegs.com or summit racing i say back magic fans there cfms are at and above 2200 which is more then enough to keep the rotary cool...

Alot of people (myself included) get it to clean up the engine bay and quiet it down when fans are not needed. Also something to consider is you would be adding another electrical strain on an already weak electrical system. Something to consider

Black magic e-fan is the most popular with the rotary guys
+1 just don't go with any ricer fan...honda's can run with out water any given day of the year...there cfms to keep the car cool are very low...and there temp's are pretty high something like a turbo...around

do it right and do it right the first time...I have never tried the e-fan from or for a taurus 3.8 liter but eh it's your call...
to take off the stock fan remove the 4 10mm bolts just behind the fan clutch...

the mr2 fans are drawing way more juice then what the stock alternator can put out or hold...With the radio running and the fuel pump so on and god forbid at night when the lights are running and all that other bull-****...

Up grading to a larger alternator and not the second gen alternators like the TURBO II but something larger the problem with it not pushing the fans will no longer be an issue...just my word of advice is all...do the swaps from clutch to e-fan right the first time...

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I haven't had any issues with the E fans while using the stock 55 amp alternator. Battery is a couple years old, a sears something but nothing special. If I ran the fans full time it might be an issue though, I don't know. I can run my 130 watt spot lights too. Never hurts to have more power than you need though. And I'll upgrade mine one of these days...

I'll have to argue this as I have had em on there for several months now and done some very long trips daylight and night time with no charging problems or noticable voltage drops.

I'll find the specs on the fan motors and post back with proof later.
